I have an Xbox 360 but with no Gold membership subscription account ... I refuse to support it ... Also I played and finished Dark Souls and got 1000G without ever going online and I hear alot of people saying that Dark Souls was meant to be played online, and I still found Dark Souls to be a very good game even in offline mode ... so from that I just want to know if the same is true for Borderlands 2 and Dragon's Dogma ...

Well, ofcause it is more fun to play games with friends, but Borderlands 2 was very enjoyable for me even though I played the entire game for myself as Siren, and I'm level 50 (the highest level you can have at this moment). It's a really good game. ^^ So I would say go ahead and play it.

A definite yes for Dragon's Dogma. Don't know about Borderlands 2 though as I haven't played it ... yet.

Borderlands 2 is ok but I wouldn't buy it for $60 to only play offline. Hell, even with online I don't think it's worth it. The writing is terrible, the leveling system is ultra grindy and makes forces you to level tons of crappy powers you don't want in order to get to ones you do want and then on top of that the cap is set so low that you can't have fun with the grind (ie level up and gain new powers) even if you did like the grinding, and the missions are really dull outside of maybe 2 or 3 in a game with hundreds. I'd buy it when it was like $30 though. All of the cons are lessened when you're only paying half price.

Like you I love Dark Souls annd never played online.Dragons Dogma is really enjoyableas well, I'm notreal far into it,I've probablyplayed about 10 hours and my only complaint is there is no fast travel in such a big world. The game is still great, you just have to do some pointless running.I haven't played Borderlands 2 yet but I did buy i this weekend

The only online part of Dragon's Dogma is the pawn sharing system (which works just fine offline too), the game otherwise plays like any other offline RPG where you go quest and grind the hell out of everything with your party of followers. So that's a definite yes to your question. Borderlands 2 feels a bit tedious when played alone but its definitely not bad, you'll still have a ton of fun playing it but its definitely much more fun to play it with friends.

I only have Borderlands 2 and it is great to play offline. The only time I went online in the original Borderlands was when I was halfway through the game, just to see how much better it plays on co-op. Not much of a difference, except that sometimes people steal your kills :P

Yeah, there is no actual online "play" in DD so obviously the single player experience doesn't suffer that badly. Still, one of the more entertaining elements of that game was searching the void for all kinds of interesting NPCs created by other players but the core game doesn't suffer if you have to use computer generated ones instead.

There's a fast travel option later in the game using a consumable item.

I actually unplugged my online for dark souls. You don't need online to enjoy dragon's dogma, but borderlands 2 might be slightly less fun.

It sounds like you don't understand how the online works in that game very well. You can only be invaded if you use Humanity to Reverse Hollowing at a bonfire. While you are "alive" you can be invaded, but while you are hollow nobody can enter your game. However, in both states you can read messages left by other players warning you of traps and telling you where secret passages are, you can touch bloodstains to get an echo of another player's death so you can avoid the same traps or monsters, and you can get extra Estus Flash refills when other players kindle bonfires near your location. You basically cut yourself off from a ton of helpful features for no reason.

I did the same for my first playthrough. I'm averse to multiplayer in most instances, and the thought of having some (expletive) enter my game while I'm trying to make some progress almost completely turned me off. However, since clearing the game, I now keep the game online in order to help other folks out with bosses, which is what really ramped up my playtime in DS. I don't mind invasions that much anymore since I can burn through most of the areas now.

On-topic:

I can't speak for DD, but I can tell you Borderlands 2 might not be so great completely offline. The sequel seems more geared towards co-op this time around given the difficulty of some parts of the game. I have no problem going it alone, but everyone's different.

Borderlands is definitely more fun online and it makes the harder sections easier.

Dragon's Dogma can be done offline, the online just allows you to get hire level pawns to help you out whereas offline seems to only have pawns that are at your level. If you liked Dark Souls offline then you'll likely have a good time with Dragon's Dogma. Granted, I never really saw a point in Dark Souls online that much, at least not compared to Demon's Souls, which I found more online friendly (amongst other things making Demon's Souls a better game).

Out of the two, I'd say DD is better suited for offline.

Borderlands 2 was somewhat disappointing to me....it is still a fun game, but didn't live up to my expectations.

Haven't played Dragon's Dogma, but from what I've heard from friends, it is a great game.

The only online Dragon's Dogma has is the pawn recruiting, which can be accessed with Silver. BL2 can be played split screen offline so its still possible to play with friends (co-op is where this game excels)

Don't pick up BL2 until a year from now when you can get the version with all the DLC for like $40. The game as it stands simply isn't worth the price of admission and playing offline while not that difficult, is at best, an act of tedium which I probably wouldn't have done had I know how it was going to be.

i played borderlands 1 entirely offline. It was a bit boring towards to end, but i still enjoyed it as much as another single player FPS. Dark Souls is meant for single player, but if your stuck, then ask for help. The Co-op is done perfectly for a single player rpg imo.

Borderlands 2 is best played offline imo. I prefer to play alone.

I have more fun playing Borderlands 2 alone.
