i would say so. It may be a bit repetitive in some respects, but there is just something very charming about that game.

I'm in the exact situation as you, I had the demo in one of those PS2 Demo Disks, I liked it quite alot, especially the rebuilding the village. I wouldn't know if it's as good as people say it is though.

I rented it when it first came out and I remember not being very impressed, but that was a long time ago and my opinion could be way different now. I'd so go for it, it's not a very valuable game, so if you don't like it your out maybe $5 or so. You can always resell it to.

Well I personally didn't like it. I hated the character design. But a lot of people do like the game.

Well people could say it's good and you could hate it. if you are truly interested in a game you should get that game, that's what I do. I never set the bar high on games I'm unsure if I'll like, that way I won't be THAT disappointed if it was a bad purchase. Dark Cloud should easily be obtainable for under $10, including the shipping costs if you find it online.

The first one is available for like 5 bucks so that one probably. The second one depends on how much you like rpgs because while an amazing game it is 20+ dollars

The weapon customization is sort of fun, but also somewhat tedious.... the combat isn't anything special, the story is "Tuesday Morning Cartoon" quality, dungeon crawling is somewhat interesting, but the main draw for me was the Village building and customization. The game is basically Sony's attempt to copy Zelda and a couple of other games, but they didn't get it just right. That said I did enjoy the game as a kid, but when I recently bought it I began to notice it's flaws.

Thought it was pretty good :D There be one or two odd problems with it but can easily be sorted if you know what your doing and what lies ahead in dungeons and during bosses.

The first Dark Cloud was a very underrated game. I was pleasantly surprised by the gameplay. It came out around the time of Wind Waker iirc, so this game was kinda lost in the shuffle which is a shame considering DC was much better.

It was a fun game, in doses. It can get EXTREMELY repetitive in terms of gameplay, with repetitive enemies, locations, attacks, etc.

The thing that keeps you going is the weapon customization though. That's where the game shines. I had so much fun playing around with my weapons, making each of my characters into a unique little badass. Also, the town building portion was so addicting. I had to get it JUST right or else I'd redo the entire town. :P

But yeah, if it's like 5 dollars, go for it. It's definitely worth that. I'd say it's a solid 6.5 or 7 in my book.

I used to have it. The game is pretty good, but the randomly generated dungeons get to be a drag. It's decent, but I wouldn't consider it amazing. I just checked the prices on ebay and it's pretty cheap. Go ahead and give it a go if you're interested.

Yes, fun game. I finally beat it over the summer. The city creation is suprising fun and somewhat deep. Having to talk to the residents to find where their homes should be adds a little bit of puzzle to the game as well.

I personally found it very meh. The gameplay is nice, the graphics are charming, but the sheer amount of repetition and the pace of the game is incredibly tedious. Dark Chronicle was so much better.

I preferred Dark Cloud 2. I thought Dark Cloud was too frustrating.

Totally worth it. It's one of the most nostalgic games I've ever played. It's a great RPG aswell.

Dark Could was a pretty amazing game when it came out, but like what everyone else said, go for number 2 if you can. It completely blew the first one away.
