OK people, I really want to buy Dishonored 2 and RE7:BH, but the fact that they both come bundled with that funky thing called "Denuvo" makes me have second thoughts. So here's my question: Is Denuvo actually harmful to my PC? (Will it slow down the games I have installed?)

Denuvo not harmful and in most cases seems to minimum to no effect on pc performance there are some exceptions like rime but most of the time if a games with Denuvo runs like crap it's the developer fault for not optimising it.

No, it is not harmful.

I am not saying it is, but...if DRM could be done right, Denuvo would probably be the right way to do it. It is definitely the best we've had to deal with so far. No BSOD :P

Honestly you won't even know it's there, it's not like that crap Ubisoft and other places were using. It doesn't install a program that has to log in to the internet. It is not intrusive at all.

@mrbojangles25: Technically, Denuvo phones home every few days.

It does constantly encrypt and decrypt stuff, but as far as I am aware there is no proof that it hurts your hardware in the short term.

It just means that if you pirate the game, you get an objectively better performing version, which is one was to make sure noone wants to pirate your game.
