or is everybody else sick of EA trying to buy everything...i remember the days of the independent developer companies and old publishing companies...where the hell did they go...EA is trying to become this monster under my bed and i don't like it...I think it's better to have many companies in the game instead of the big giant stupid player who can kill you just by looking at you...each developing company had there our style of gaming which made it freakin sweet...now EA this, EA that, EA is getting annoying and ruining the gaming industry...

yea i'm sick of it too, there's loads of big corporations taking over the smaller ones and running everything. but this isn't just happening with EA & the gaming industry.

Nothing can really be done to stop this. It's pretty common for the larger companies to offer suitable deals to not so large developers. It's all about the money basically these days, not so much about pride of your company. Same with other things, like shoe makers and similar, if you know what I mean.

This kind of post isn't necessary on GameSpot's forums. It was still in plain sight and every post should contribute to the conversation.

As long as there is still some competition out there, I'm not overly concerned about EA. When they make good games, they get my business. When they don't, I stay away.

I just wish more people would stay away when they make bad games. :(

i don't care honestly. as of hte last year or so, gaming in general is more of buisness then it is about the fans. its as ugly as any other industry out there. its just buisness. leave it be and play your games. after all, we as a group decide if the game is good or not, not sell out reviews.

Yeah... This stuff has been going on forever now so I just don't bother anymore. No matter what sick things might happen in the business aspect of the gaming industry we will never run out of great games to play.

EA will not create a monopoly. They cannot afford to buy the like of Nintendo, Microsoft Games Studios, SCEA, SquareEnix, Acivision, or other such mega-publishers.

When all the smaller companies are bought out than there will be new companies that enter the business. Soon they grow large and the cycle repeats itself.

You see. Ea can only buy companies and names. If they stifle groth and creativity, those developers will look elsewhere, start a new company and the process starts all over again. w

Larger companies buying smaller companies. You see this every day, not only in the gaming industry. It is known as Capitalism.

We can do nothing to stop them. If there are still good games being released, I don't care much to be honest.

true...but EA has ruined some franchises...case in point...football, ESPN 2k5 i think it was, WAS awesome...then that year EA bought the liscense for the NFL and they Madden has been the same ever since...nothing has changed in Madden...and it sucks...
