Is it me or is EA really improving this next-gen?

I've hated EA last gen they ruined good game but now I think they're improving with games like

NFS Pro Street which i've played the demo of it and it's back to good control (NFS IMO sucked in that part)

Your thoughts? :)

EA is a money hungry company that is trying to monopolize gaming industry. They do nothing for the gamers except release crappy games and constantly ruin good franchises.

EA are the power hungry corperate stadium middle of the road DAD casual rock band who tour every year without any heart or soul just because the money feeds them.

Yes, they are power hungry and all that jazz, but they occasionally release a good game, such as Fight Night Round 3.

I love fightnight round 3, also i play the need for speed games, so in that respect i guess im a hypocrite lol.

Its cool to hate EA but i still play their games. Thats a good motto!!

Improving? By making simpler, less complex games for more money? Sure... why not...

Im all for simpler less complexgames. Games should be easy to play but hard to put down.

Putting the same games out year after year to feed the fat cats, now thats a different story.

Well that is where creativity ceases to exist. Some of the most creative games were the hardest. Back during the nineties, there would be seas of titles that hardly anyone could fully complete in one sitting until they'd figured out how to beat it after days of practice.

Games should be easy to pick up but difficult to finish. If you beat something that is difficult, you have a sense of success and achievement. With easy to finish games, the only thing that makes you feel special is the "You're Winner!" screen. "Accessible" doesn't mean "easy."

A lot games these days, anyone can finish if they have time whatever their level of skill. Its almost like you need more time rather than skill to complete games.

My fave game ever is streetfighter2, easy to play but took me years to master all the combos and characters..

It's not like EA is the sole company making games simpler, so it's not really fair to single them out.

And yes, I think EA has improved this generation. Not only are there some pretty good games coming out from their in-house developers, but their attitude in regards to publishing games from external developers seems to have improved as well. Even gamespot gave EA a little 'pat on the back' sorta speak during one of their Hotspot episodes of a couple weeks back.

For every Crysis EA publishes there's always a Hellgate: London, sigh.

NFS is really getting stale though, time to kill it.

The Fight Night series is good (probably the best boxing games made) Def Jam isnt bad either. Even though EA does put out a bunch of crap games, there are always a few good ones they put out

i dont understand the hatred towards EA. they are publishing crysis and released the sims? that alone deseves some recognition. they do buy alot of licenses. lets not menion their constant abuse of their marvel license. they are creating constantly rubish movie licensed games. but to be fair, people should stop buying them. dont blame EA. over all i think EA have a hand full of great games, a hell of alot of rubbish but in some ways usful rubbish. ubisoft now theres a rubbish game developer. every game has the approce of this totally linear and repetitive structure, a vast lack of charm and essentially a bore fest. even their most promising game "assassin's creed" wil be plauged by the hughly rubbish story

I think EA realized that they have a bad image with a lot of people in the gaming industry and it seems they have been trying to publish and/or develop games of higher quality. Games like Rock Band, The Simpsons Game (I thought it was an absolutely awesome experience,) Crysis, The Orange Box and such show that EA is, at the very least, trying to improve their image.

I don't dislike McDonalds. It's much better compared to overpriced finnish places.
