Poll is it right to be forced to buy the new consoles xbox one and ps4? (1 votes)

xbox one 100%
ps4 0%

apparently far cry 4 2015 may not be available for the 360 and ps 3 i think that is a really stupid move if new games will not be on 360 or ps3 it is to my eyes fraud where they are trying to make u buy new consoles for new games what if ppl cant afford the new consoles and only have 360 or ps3 its wrong that we shud be forced to buy new gen consoles for new games is that all they do is money money money? if thats all they do it for its greed and theft really unfair to the casual gamer would have to spend even more money for a new console unfair they being forced to buy consoles for new games companies should rly think of this from the gamers perspective and not think more for greed maybe release new games for both genre consoles 360/one or ps3/ps4 then make the ps4 and xbox one games more graphical than the 360 and ps3 versions dont force people to get new consoles its wrong its theft and you certainly aint thinking about the customer its a shaim seing game companies thinking more about themselves instead of their customers satisfaction companies r happy just stopping games for lesser fortunate gamers and taking money off people its wrong what ever happened to the customers comes first no im not happy they took this road if only they thought less about their wealth and more about customer satisfaction mark my words this will not end well customers will be at constant battles with companies and customers will slow down being such a loyal fan because of the companies forceful ways of getting money off them its daylight robbery

Seriously? First off what the hell kind of poll/vote thread is this? You ask a question with choices that don't really work for an answer. Secondly this is kind of how things work not only for consoles but for other gaming related hardware along with a number of other things I could think of.

Firstly, punctuation. Learn it.

Secondly, this is what is known as progress. Technology advances. Old hardware cannot support the visions of new artists.

That said, no one is forcing you to do anything. And wanting to offer a product for sale is not greed. Wanting to support the new X1/PS4 platforms to help see your vision of a game realized is not greed. Greed is putting money or material possessions before all else. Greed would be scaling back their vision to sell the games on old consoles that have a bigger install base just for the sake of more possible customers.

The console makers aren't greedy because they want to make a profit or earn a living. You, or I'm guessing your dad/mom/guardian, makes a living somehow. You (or Them) accepting that check for your (their) time is the same thing as a company offering a product. If you find no value in the new product, stick to the old machines. That is your right. But what isn't your right is to kick in the door and cry about not being specifically catered to.

Guess what mate , no one is forcing you play or buy anything, its all a free world where developers decide to make their game available on what ever console they want exactly like you can choose to buy or not to buy a console.

This is how technology progresses, not just for gaming but in lots of different ways. Game developers want to improve the overall quality of their games, and provide new experiences, and they cannot do that on the last generation console hardware due to its limitations. That is why they went from the PS1 to the PS2 to the PS3 and now the PS4 - and the same with Xbox, X360 and now Xbox One. If no one had taken those necessary steps for progress, we would still be playing Pong on old TVs.

This.

One point I'd like to add.

The PS3 and 360 life cycle ran long, comparatively to other console generations, and it hurt the industry pretty hard. Sales plateaued, creativity took a dive, and we got way more sequels than anything else for years.

firstly i apologize for my error pole answer thing im new to this gamespot thing secondly i have some mild learning difficulties so sayin about my punctuation is horrible you guys are disrespectful and i dont care what you think of me im going to enjoy my life no matter how cruel some people get with their stupid comments and i stand my ground wen i say companies should think more about customers and less about the money, i will not apologize for that because its true...

some say its business well i say its greed and they do it for the wrong reason im trying to make a stand here for customer rights and you guys defend against me well i feel sorry for you little sorrow imbasils im sorry that u guys think money grows on trees and think you can get the new consoles and think its right that you have to spent more money for a new console for updated games...

lastly the comment thing about the nes hell at least nes had longer years 360 was out less years than most consoles out there and now they say its had the time, HELL NO! no on my watch the 360 didnt see much time and they puttin that on on a down hill same with ps3 lol new consoles made it doesnt mean they should stop creating games for the older ones...

infact bringing new games for the 360/one and ps3/ps4 should actually help the companies and should invest for that way because more consoles get more newer choices of games therefore more people will be spending more because it would be open to a wider range of consoles make no sence to just invest in xbox one/ps4

it makes more sence bring newer games to a wider range of consoles...

comment if you agree with this and please no more hatred comments cos it only makes you look like a bully and makes you look stupid and need i say really childish...

By the way if a company say this product aint available any more for this console to buy number 4 or 5 to a certain game that you enjoy yes thats forceful behavior just to continue you collection on a certain game they should finish what they started on the same console for example farcry if u enjoy the games and they end it of far cry 3 for the 360 and have far cry 4 and maybe 5 on xbx1/ps4 thats forceful behavior forcing u to go to new console to experience the rest of the game franchise but only on newer consoles

Greed is putting money or material possessions before all else

ok so wen i mentioned

companies think more of money and less about customers

thats putting money or material possessions before all else if im not mistaken

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

the only time should one buy a new console is for the graphics update and not carry on a franchise they enjoy and will not be able to complete the franchise on their console they got

I'm sorry but this argument makes no sense and is impractical. Going by your reasoning companies should continue making games for all previous platforms. So when Wii U Zelda comes out it should also have a Wii, Gamecube, N64, SNES, and NES version. Halo 5 should be on Xbox, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. Final Fantasy XV should be on NES, SNES, Playstation, Playstation 2, Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. I won't even begin to list all the various PC configurations that Half-Life 3 would be on going by your recommendations. While were at it musicians should still be releasing their music on vinyl, 8-track, cassette tape, cd's and movies should still be on VCR's, Beta, Laser disc, DVD, HD-DVD, and Blu-ray. Technology progresses as does the medium. It's natural, not greed.

first- ignore the obvious trolls with their rude comments, i apologize for them, most of these brats are spoiled dicks who believe that everybody's daddy has endless pockets like their good ol' paw..

second, to answer your question- no! of course it isn't right, these greedy game corporations know they're bleeding us dry and don't think for a second they aren't aware of it, but unfortunately they have the upper hand, at least till the console wars finally die out, as for now if you're a hardcore gamer as am i and wanna stay in the game you have no choice but to come off about 500$ to 600$ every so many years. look at it this way, its a well spent investment to keep your boredom at bay and there are certainly worse things you could spend it on..

That's a load of crap. Technology progresses becuase both consumers and developers want it to.

@cashincontrol: Not only were you incredibly rude, you probably aren't the brightest person either. He is asking a simple question, so give him a simple answer. Don't criticize his punctuation, go pursue a career as an English professor. In my opinion though, this new generation isn't a forceful tactic at all or else they would stop making games for the 3rd gen. You should hold onto a PS3 or 360 for games that still are to be released or maybe just sentimental value. However, I now own a PS4 and a PS3 and I can tell you that I haven't even taken my PS3 back out of the box I stored it in. It seems almost obsolete.

It's your decision so do not rush if you don't feel the need to spoil yourself. And also, don't feel the need to respond to arrogant posts like the one above. Just continue blessing the games you play bruddah.

thanks for the posative feedback you are completly right there i should chill on console i got at the moment, putting that in perspective im sure companies will better off to slow down problem is they are making new consoles too fast and aint giving customers enough years to enjoy what they have companies over rush technology its great seing new ideas and what companies can achieve but they are going way to fast they need to take it down a pace instead of shiftin one console to the next in a short period of time

lols you sound pathetic

1 im not saying release games for consoles that areas old as the nes

2 i did not mention anything about movies

3 i am totally saying 360 and ps3 can still handle games that ps4 and xbox one offer just by giving the games on 360/ps3 slightly less graphics

bloody hell m8 you think im talkin bout releasing games of ancient consoles? u must be sadly mistaken sorry dude

not only ppl stopped playin ancient consoles but also 360/ps3 aint really all that old mate

(XboX 360) November 22, 2005 only 9 years old

(PS3) March 23, 2007 only 7 years old

they made the new consoles too quick and slowing down in games for 360 and ps3 too quick

dos reached over 3000 games atari reached over 5000 games

as old as they are they still produced more games than the newer consoles why is that?

because they didnt rush in making fresh ones all the time so game choices are getting less and less because companies create new consoles too fast

so where is this leading? are we going to end up having only 1 game for a super console that we purchased loads for think about the quantity not quality of games quantity is better than quality

who cares of supreme gfx, who care of new technology, we should be greatful with what we get and not keep asking for better things we should be thankful for what we recieve and not think we have to have something more better quality, better graphics, better technology thats being ungreatful

lastly may i add the game should be about the storyline and not how much graphics it adds...

reason why companies rush these things its all of you guys being greedy and being unsatisfied with whats been put in front of them you are to blaim that console are makin less games, you are asking way too much and it needs to be slown down...

If you're going to respond to criticism with insults, just don't bother posting. It's been explained to you why future games are shifting to these consoles, it's technological progress.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

im not insulting anyone they are just giving stupid answers, dog eat dog world give a stupid answer receive a response i will not tolerate people who question my knowledge and you sir are just as rude as they by sayin im isultive, like i said in my latest post older consoles created more games than the newer ones and thats not right m8 honestly xbox 360 made so far approximately 1000+ games atari alone made over 5000+ dos made over 3000+ games now for the standards that we receive we are getting less games for the consoles we buy and need i say 360 and ps3 cost more than atari and dos did back in its time so basacly we are spending more money for less quantity of games now are you going to argue that fact or what?

we need companies to slow down makin consoles and giving us a wider viriety of games we have on consoles already made
