Is playing Minecraft right now bad?

Me and my best friend just for laughs we said lets play some Minecraft for some tbt. I started playing and i got addicted and i cant stop playing it. Its a good game but my question is, is it bad that im playing minecraft NOW?

Yyyyyyyyes, people say Fortnite is for little kids so that would technically mean Minecraft is for littlest of little kids.

Games have no value or merit whatsoever (unless you're some esports champ...), EXCEPT to entertain.

So. With that cleared up: if you are having a blast and addicted to it right now, it has literally done the best a game can do and served its sole purpose.

If you "shouldn't" enjoy it because it's been out a while, then I don't want to do what's right

@gaminggod005: Why would the date you play a game matter, Minecraft isn't exactly an older game either so this question seems odd.

Or do you and your friend only know people with zeitgeist-gaming mentality?

Theres nothing wrong with playing Minecraft in this day and age as truth be told it was quite an extraordinary game back when it was popular. It unleashes creativity and allows you to do so much stuff. I used to play minecraft all the time when I was younger, now occasionally I still go on creative mode and have fun.

If you are addicted to any game, that might be bad (e.g., stopped playing LineAge 2 many years ago, when during school-night I noticed that I've been playing up until 2 AM. That was a cold shower. Never touched that game again), however, if your addiction is not real addiction, you just like the game - go for it. The purpose of games is to pass time and entertain. Nothing else.

@gaminggod005: Dude, it's not bad to play ANY game if you enjoy it. You can even play ET on Atari 2600 if you enjoy it. We live in a free world, man.

Voxel games have grown enormously in the past 5 years.

not to say minecraft is a bad game but now there are voxel games out there that are a lot more in depth as well as look tons better

Minecraft is an intresting game, so if you enjoy it you could play. You might want to look at similar games that differ from minecraft if you want more of a challange/purpose to the game, otherwise if you just enjoy the creativity and absolute freedom it is a good game to play.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with playing Minecraft. I started playing it back in 2009 and loved it. It’s still a game my friends and I still jump back in to.

I never viewed it as a kids game, so no don’t ever think it’s bad to play.

not saying minecraft is a bad game however, if one likes minecraft they are really missing out on some amazning modern Voxel based games if they decide to keep their mind closed to them.

Completely up to you. I revisited it this year and I’ve definitely grown out of it. But, that’s just me. I’d prefer playing Roblox over Minecraft.
