The overwhelming power of Playstation 3 has led the PS2 into the back where it's soon to be forgotten. No more great titles for PS2 users?...

First,of course, even if the PS2 sales are still MUCH higher. And second, hey do you still want weak PS2 to next gen ports,or the other way around.Worse egnough that Mercenaries 2 is coming to PS2 which almost means it´s crappy on the PS2 and doesn´t use the technology on PS3/360 or it´s good on PS2 and even more low-level-next-gen on PS3/360.
Plus, the PS2 was technically weak the day it came out,it got several years on it´s back,so there is the end more then needed if you want to technically advance in gaming. The main reason most people will miss the PS2 because it´s easy to copy games. Those who buy only Originals already got a PS3 or 360 and don´t care what system they´re playing on.The only reason I´ll miss thelast genare 2D games.
Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 (Legitimate GotY candidate)
Growlanser: Heritage of War
Fatal Fury Battle Archives vol.2
The King of Fighters XI
NeoGeo Battle Coliseum
Samurai Shodown: Tenkaichi Kenkyakuden
Guilty Gear Accent Core
.hack//GU vol.3
Guitar Hero III
Phantasy Star Universe: Ambition of Illuminus
There's still lots of life left in the PS2.

Every time I tell myself that I'm done with the previous generation I always end up picking up more games for it. Just recently I grabbed Valkyrie Profile 2 and am currently looking for Persona 3 although I seem to be having trouble trying to find it. I'll probably end up grabbing any and all of those fighting games that I can find.

I think that God of War II was the last great PS2 game, sorry to say it. darklordlaird
If that's what you truely believe, why should you be sorry?
Well... in all fairness it should be tapered off and focus be brought about to the PS3. Just be glad they didn't unceremoniously dump support for it like the Xbox and Gamecube did.
I'd personally be pissed if the PS2 was still the focus of development after buying a PS3 like I did.
The PS2's support is strong enough that I'm extremely thankful for the PS3's near perfect B/C.

Near Perfect???Wait..I think you got the "old"PS3...the new ones(PAL since the release,USA is about to come) are without the Emotion-Chip,so absolutely crap as ar as I´ve heard.

Really? I've heard the software emulation on the PS3 is still pretty decent. I made sure to grab one with the EE, but I thought I'd heard that after a couple quick updates the software emu was working pretty well.[QUOTE="Ash2X"][QUOTE="CarnageHeart"]The PS2's support is strong enough that I'm extremely thankful for the PS3's near perfect B/C.

Any gamer who values ease of playing PS2 classics should get a 60 gig PS3 with the EE chip in it while they still can.

I did some pretty rudimentary looking around and found this. It seems there are indeed some high-profile titles that don't work or have major issues, but the overall percentage of compatable games is pretty good.[QUOTE="LordAndrew"][QUOTE="Shifty_Pete"]Really? That made my morning :P Bro, pretty much, the PS2 has depreciated and no new games will be made for it.rimnet00Yeah, dude...the PS2 is more or less dead...I am actually shocked that even games were still coming out like Persona 3, GrimGrimoire, and God of War II...
