http://gamesandbiz.blogspot.com/p/five-smartest-games-businesses.html What do you guys think? Obviously being a good business has a (slightly) different set of criteria than coming up with the most creative (or even entertaining) games, but of this list, only Sony appears in the top five.

i have some issues with that list. EA is up there, and I agree with it, but under aquisitions they don't mention Bioware? That is pretty ignorant. Sony is also a good pick for smartest in their long term planning, but then they mention the psp go as the reason that they are so great?? It should be for 3D gaming, bluray, focussing on developing their 1st and 2nd party games, and for the ps3's interchangability with pc components. Also, rockstar for DLC? That isn't even original. They are expansion packs. That's it.

Lol @ even having that thought, You are running on windows, most if not all people are running on windows right now.
Even if you aren't using windows right now, something in your possession was created by Microsoft.

You cannot resist us.

I dont understand how Nintendo is not on this list. While Sony and Microsoft have made a name for themself within the last certain number of years, Nintendo is the only console manufacturer around since the 80's! Sure they slowed down a bit with the nintendo 64 and gamecube, but their release of the Wii has catapulted them back to the top! Obviously a company like this has been doing something right if it has been around for as long as it has been and still dominating the market. That list is completely irrelevant without Nintendo on it.

Not even close. Sony had the gaming industry by the balls, and in one gen has sunk to last place... real smart?

Agreed. They have plenty of great moments, but as we seen this gen, not always.

I disagree with that article. Although I am not a fan of the Wii, the fact is, Nintendo took a big risk by introducing motion controls and touch screen capabilities, and as a result they are dominating both the console and handheld markets by a long shot. Whats more, they are now throwing in 3D gaming as well as a dozen other features in their 3DS.

Sony may have been great in the past, but how is a company that is trying to imitate Nintendo's success by implementing motion controls considered smarter?

Also, as others have mentioned, I think its safe to say most of us are using something from Microsoft right now.

There's at least one aspect where each company is smarter than the other two. It's hard to tell, overall, though.

Definately agree mate, I'm using windows and own a 360, so thats 2 already, why nintendo only get an honorable mention just stuns me. Quote 'Yet there are lingering concerns over whether Nintendo's vision (and R & D investments) will allow it to retain relevancy', I think we can all agree that Nintendo has the biggest market out there, and looking back at E3, they aren't going to lose that audience very easily.

The one that does annoy me though is Zynga, fair enough they have revolutionised social gaming, but as a whole, number 2? They should be lower down really, from a hardcore gaming perspective, EA should definately move up the list, totally agree with Square Enix number 1, I think Steam should have got an honourable mention, I dont use Steam, but I've read about it and browse their website, theyve saved the PC gaming market, well done to them

System Wars is where this belongs.
