I have a model 2 Sega Genesis without a power adapter and I discovered than the PSOne (the slim model) adapter "works." I write works in quotations because while the thing powers up, the voltages for the two adapters are different. The Genesis' adapter is at 10v while the PSOne's is at 7.5v. Does anyone know if using the PSOne adapter would cause harm to my Genesis? Thanks.

If the voltage is different, don't even bother.

Why don't you just go to amazon.com or ebay or something and get one for dirt cheap. They aren't expensive....

Check the amps and voltage. If it is the same then you are ok.

Given how the PS1's adapter is less in voltage. Your Genesis won't even power up.
