Dude, I actually know a fair amount about the Saturn. I have a few Saturns in my video store, and I have one at home. I would seriously not waste your money unless you are a serious collector. I want to say there are about 100 games available for it, and 95 of them suck. The other 5, such as Lunar go for pretty big bucks. I can't really think of any really great games that go cheap. Load times, and pre-PS1 grainy graphics really make buying a Saturn for a lot of money a bad deal. I would recommend a PS1, N64, or Sega Genesis. Then at least you can pick up some good games for relatively cheap. Hope that helped.Highscore79You don't know anything about the Saturn do you? the Lunar you mean is for the Mega-CD, but you really know the system...right. :|
No, I mean Lunar for Sega Saturn, which can be found in your list of best Sega Saturn Games. I didn't say I was the all knowing Sega Saturn master. I would never waste my time researching an inferior system, or any system for that long. It's quite clear that you love the Saturn by the fact you named half of it's game library as being good. You are most likely the biggest Sega Saturn fan ever, which is proven by the words "best games" being used to describe Baku Baku Animal.
Coming from a normal person, that owns a video game store, goes to work, and goes outside from time to time, buy a Sega Saturn only if it's at a good price, and you can get some games that you want to play. And don't expect too much from it in the way of fun, unless load times are your thing.
Hey I wanted to point one other thing to you that may help. The Saturn only sold for 3 years. Here in the US anyways. That in itself shows that consumers were not liking the games. Especially since Nintnedo didn't have a system out that even came close to the hardware specs at the time of release. And for the last six months there weren't many games released for Saturn. Plus it was killed by the PS1, which wasn't a great system either. I'm not sure if Dreamcasts are available to you in Sweden, but imo there are a lot better games for it, that are also relatively more available. I really don't hate the Saturn, just trying to give solid advice on your topic.
The expensive Lunar is the Mega-CD one. I doubt anybody knows or cares about Lunar for the Saturn outside of Japan, where it goes for less than $20. There's even a MPEG version compatible with the VCD adapter released in Japan that has high-quality FMVs. But again nobody knows it or cares for it outside of Japan. The Mega-CD Lunar is the renown one.No, I mean Lunar for Sega Saturn, which can be found in your list of best Sega Saturn Games. I didn't say I was the all knowing Sega Saturn master. So no Lunar is not one of the sought after games for the Saturn.
This is not even a quarter of it's library actually. But funny you said it had 100 games and only 5 were good, when GS has 580+ Saturn games on their database and they're still missing quite a lot of games.
I just posted more than 100 great games for the Saturn, which more than proves your 5 good games theory null.
And Baku Baku is a great puzzle game, and most people that have played it tend to agree, as you can tell for many of the reviews around the net.
I mean, it's clear that you have little to no knowledge of the system and it's library itself. It doesn't matter that your own a videogame store or not.

Dude, the poster asked for opinions and I gave him mine. If you think Saturn had 580 games released outside of Japan that's fine with me. Like I said, I have all the knowledge of the system that I need to know. You win the Sega Saturn topic, he should definately go buy one to play all of those great AAA titles you named. Sega rules, I can't wait until they release their new system.
Hi, I'm thinking about buying a Sega Saturn but since they are rare here in Sweden they are really expensive. So I have a question for every Saturn owner : Are there many good games on the saturn?
Please leave a comment on some good/great games.Jaxxo
I heard that the 2-d fighting games are the best on Saturn and I think there's some good RPG's.
Its a tough call,
I have just over the hundred game mark, and the games are hit or miss. To this day I can still toss in Fighting Vipers which looks terrible by todays standards and still play.
Puzzle Fighter (Which is far better then the XBL Arcade download) is wonderful and still worthy of a play every so often. If you are an RPG gamers there are a few gems. I still play Sonic R every so often,
The perk with Saturn is that since some many of the games are more a matter of personal preference, you can get pretty good ones cheap. I loved D, and got it in its four disc glory for 10 bucks, Enemy Zero for 20 bucks, Fighting Vipers for 5 bucks,
Even old stuff you can get elsewhere like Hexen is pretty cheap, it not a high investment to get a Saturn and you can get fun games pretty cheap. If you are a collector the higher end stuff if tricky but attainable.
Although I've never played it, Panzer Dragoon Saga is supposed to be every bit as good as Final Fantasy 7.UT_Wrestler
Certainly a worthy play.
