It has a GREAT singleplayer campaign in my opinion, but it is definitely a vehicle for multiplayer for the most part; I would say it is worth it at 35 dollars or less if you plan on just the offline portion, which you should have no problem finding at this point.
The campaign is a lot of fun, decent enough story, great action, really awesome level design. It has a really neat "bromance" (I use that term loosely) between your character and the Titan you pilot; the two of you form a pretty tight bond, it's a lot of fun to watch the two of you grow close and kick ass together.
I mean, CoD IW, BF1, Deus Ex MD, and Titanfall 2 all came out roughly at the same time and I definitely found Titanfall 2 better than all of them concerning singleplayer. The only other game that came out around that time that was better was Dishonored 2 (again, from a singleplayer standpoint). You could argue Deus Ex MD was better due to length, RPG elements (character interaction, skills, etc) but Titanfall 2 had such a good fun:time investment ratio it was nuts.
