Well I just rented it and I beat the game in 1 day, it was a short game indeed. Thank god I didn't waste my $60.00 on this game and I hear alot of people trade in at Gamestop after that. i went into Gamestop the other day and I saw 8 used copies of the game. Lucasarts should be shot and they need to stop making video games and get the Star Wars right to a company that game good game like Capcom or EA. This game could be the end of Lucasarts and they have to find a company for there Star Wars games.

Halo Reach is double that length in SP, but has potential of hundreds of hours in multiplayer. Think about that. A multiplayer game where 90% of the time you will spend will be in the multiplayer, has double the length of a SP-only game. That's sad. :(

No TOR will be the end of Lucas Arts...and EA, if we're lucky.

Brevity and a few technical hiccups aside, the game engine is one of the best-looking I've played this generation and the core gameplay is fantastic. The game didn't end up being everything I wanted and expected (especially after playing the demo) but what is there is mostly quality. If anything, I'd love to see Lucasarts use this engine to make future SW games, as this is one of the most technically impressive titles on the market.

Also, there are plenty of quality games you can beat in one sitting or in one full day so that is hardly an accurate rubric to measure quality. You obviously already knew about the length of the game and opted to rent it, which means you got a good bang for your dollar, so why so much hostility aimed at a developer that delivered a fun game that was perhaps a bit light on content?

Seriously, get some perspective.

Whether you personally like or hate their games, Lucasarts is going nowhere, especially when they own IP's as valuable as Star Wars and Indiana Jones.

As for EA, they've been releasing plenty of great stuff these last few years so I have no idea why any serious enthusiast of the medium would be rooting for their downfall. It's entirely nonsensical.

I prefer my games short and sweet TBH. The less 'filler' the better for me...quality > qty.

The shortness is what hampers an otherwise good game.

Considering TFU was one of the best Star Wars game I've ever played, I don't know how they've managed to go wrong. Haven't played it myself but from what I've heard/read it's a bit of a dissapointment. Will probably pick it up in the Jan sales.

The shortness wouldn't bother me if the game is enjoyable. I played SC: Conviction until 4am the day I bought it (didn't put it down) and although it wasn't particularly long (7hrs ish) it was better than some of the longer games I've played (like RDR).

The core gameplay is actually better than the first but the story is incredibly fragmented and brief.

I actually LOVE the way it plays however, which is what I personally look for in games.

I'll probably end up getting it shortly after christmas. With all the bad reviews, it'll probably be less than 30 by that time.

Tell that to games like Morrowind, Oblivion, Fallout, any other RPG, even WoW.

HUNDREDS of hours PER GAME > a 4 hour game. At the same price.

I wasnt really expecting TFU2 to be a long game, the way I view it is as an Interactive movie, the only reason i've bought it was for the story and the future dlc, I've had it for about a week and I still haven't finished it yet.

Games I've beaten in one day:

  • Battlefield: Bad Company 2
  • Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
  • Call of Duty: World at War
  • Call of Duty: Modern Wafare 2
  • Gears of War
  • Gears of War 2
  • Ghostbusters: The Video Game
  • Halo 3
  • Halo 3: ODST
  • Halo Wars
  • Halo: Reach
  • King Kong: The Official Game of the Movie
  • Mirror's Edge
  • Resident Evil 5

And there is more...

What's the big surprise ST:TFU2 is short again? Lucasarts needs to let someone make a god damn Battlefront 3 already.

Oh, and I enjoyed the Lego Star Wars games.

TFU II is actually closer to 6-7 hours in terms of length. That's still a tad short but hardly abnormally so.

I don't have time for that. That is why I said what I prefer. Money is not the issue for me. I don't want things that drag out.
