So is this the final nail in Blockbusters coffin? I mean yeah the games are 2$ a night and you get 5 day rentals from Blockbuster for $10, but if you finish the game in 3 days you just saved yourself 4 bucks! Although the selection is very low right now I am quite excited to see if this catches on!

Final coffin? I guess so, but 2 bucks a night is really high if your not buying a short game.

It is, but hey, maybe you pay those 2 dollars and realize you really like the game and decide to buy it. I'd rather have that realization $2 out rather than $10

Two bucks a night is really steep. Don't rent any RPGs.

I would use redbox rentals to see if i like the game return it next day and buy it, better to spend the 2 bucks and find out that the game sucks than spending 60 and being stuck with a bad game :)

Yeah I wouldn't rent an RPG, but I've played several games that only took about 3 days to beat so that isn't too bad.

Hey how does it work exactly? Do they take out 2 dollars ever night you have it or do they charge you full price for the game after the first late fee?

It's $2 for every night you still have it. They simply pull the money out of your credit/debit card. I think there's a cutoff limit where if you keep it for so many days, they charge you full price and you keep the game.

Are people really compaining about two dollars a day. With some games only having four hour lifespans, I'd say that's great. It'd take you twenty days before you'd reach retail. I love this idea and I hope it catches on. I might actually start renting games again :D

What games does your redbox have?

Yeah thats what I thought, but I'm curious as to when the actual cutoff date is?

What game did you rent? I can see myself renting a single player game on the weekend then spending 15 hours on a Saturday to beat it

I stopped at my Redbox and they had Dead Rising 2, Enslaved, Castlevania, Fallout New Vegas, Kane And Lynch 2, and maybe one or two others. Not a huge selection, but most people only rent new releases anyway.

I rented the perfect rental game! Rented enslaved at around 10am on saturday and it wasn't due back till 9pm sunday so I finished it in two dollars! :D Sadly the selection is insanely limited because they only started having games 3 days ago

I am actually amazed that Redbox is now dealing with video games. I'm sure after it's success with movies, this is a great investment.

Kudos to them.

... now, off to Redbox! :)

Wow so a simple five days later and the selection is already much larger! Fable 3, Fallout NV, SWFU 2, and I guess they will be releasing games day and date with retail which is awesome...depending on how Black Ops' MP turns out i might just redbox it for the SP

I haven't visited my local Redbox in a while... I'm not sure if video games are available yet.

I rather buy my games than rent them. But congrats.
