Aside from incredibly similar looks, Kevin is pretty harsh in his reviews (Blue Dragon, Lair). Greg Kasavin was pretty harsh, too. But Greg K does appreciate a gaming experience over just a game, and recognises that, unlike Jeff with his harsh review of Bioshock. I'm not sure if Kevin is appreciative of that, but he didn't review Bioshock, so we don't know.

I think Kevin's the new Greg K. Thoughts?

He didn't appreciate MP3, so there is some insight on that. Anyway he is new, lets give it some time before we crown anyone the next Greg K. Greg was an excellent reviewer.

Ditto. Besides, I think making comparisons such as this one is rather unfair. I believe everyone should be taken into account by the weight of their own merits.

To be fair both of these games are mediocre at best while Lair looks to be poor. I'm still getting it in a few days, so I will judge for myself if he was too harsh or just right on. As far as Blue Dragon I have to agree on everything I have read on it, it's derivative, middle of the road, SOS nothing creative here move on please. I would say He's been pretty much on the money as far as what I have read of his reviews. He did PC game reviews before he started on console stuff. I would have cancelled my my Lair pre-book after reading his review because it was the final nail, but Family video already had shipped it. Grrr the one time I get a decent early shipment its on the worst game go figure.

No, he (or anyone else) has a ways to go before he could be anywhere near Greg K league reviewer. Gamespot's best reviewer at the moment is IMHO Alex Navarro

I havn't been round here looking at revews for too long (late 04 is when I first came) but I really thought Greg got what made e enjoy a gam, he understood what makes games fun, he had a similar point of view to mine on games I allways felt. Even if I disagreed with the score on a game, the review itself would allways let me know what the game was like and weather or not it as for me. Nobody else really comes close to that, on any site.

...unlike Jeff with his harsh review of Bioshock.

Heck if 9.0 is harsh I'd have liked Jeff to mark some of my university papers. =P

Yeah, not to mention the dull combat, lame death system, and AI that has frozen in place for me like 5 times already. Anything higher than a 9.0 would be an outright lie.

Alex is indeed the awesomeness. Lairisn't as bad as how Kevin puts it to be, he had a very sarcastic tone throughout the review that I didn't appreciate.

I think they're all honest reviewers. They give a realistic look at games. And you can't really judge them by the games they review. If someone gets a load of crap games to review of course they're going to give bad scores. Kevin needs to be given a good game to review and then we can see if he's harsh, or just a realist.
