So in honor of Killzone 2 I was thinking of playing the original (as I have not played it before). Anyone got any thoughts or opinions on this game? I don't mind spoilers as I'm told the game has virtually no story. I'd prefer honest opinions of the game and whether I should crank through it.
Although it didn't live up to the hype, it was still decent. It was years since I last played it, so I can't really remember much. Just that it was relatively enjoyable.
its decent like a 6 outta 10 game. The story is actually decent. It is the gameplay that is boring. It gets really repetitive. There are tons of bugs and glitches. The weapons are cool and the game has great sound affects and atmosphere. It's probably really cheap now so couldnt hurt to try it. It was moderately enjoyable. The split screen can be fun because you can have bots. The online is terrible however since people just use grenades so you blow up as soon as you spawn basically.
Would of been "great" had it not been for some slowdown and glitches (visual and AI). It has great sound, atmosphere, and variety of levels (jungle, deserts, snowy areas, and more).
I loved the game when it came out. The story is pretty standard but the characters other than Rico are pretty likeable. Each character has their strengths and weaknesses but aren't very varied. Templar and Hakha are more or less the same and Rico can just handle heavy arms better and has more health. Luger is probably the most unique character, more agile and great with sniper weapons.
If you're going to play it now just take it for what it is and you should enjoy it.

My thoughts exactly. I didnt think it was amazing, and the controls are a bit clunky. But its worth a play through I suppose. Yep it's a good fps I mean it isn't the best but it ain't the worse either.
I didn't play much of this game, but I remember it being okay. Not an amazing game, but definitely not so totally terrible that you should stay away at all costs. An average game that should be played if you can get it at a bargin bin price.
