They should've easily been able to anticipate this many people would try to play GTAV online.....been trying since 12 noon, still havent even seen the online portion(yes, I know many others are suffering too, not just me). All I was able to do was make a guy.

I made a guy, did the race against Lamar... Set a world record aparently (no idea what that means, since I can't see leaderboards... probably just means I am ranked). After that I hit continue, it loaded a minute or two... Then it went to the map, there were no textures on anything and the camera was like panning in a straight line through the entire world (under the world even) and then my Xbox crashed.

It was interesting to say the least.

Its still frustrating... I just don't understand how it makes sound business sense to do this for companies... Like EA especailly (problem with every single launch)...

If I were running a business, I would spend the money upfront and scale back as needed (from normal player decline and the likes) rather than be overwhelmed, scram to compensate, piss off customers (potentially losing some in the process), and then end up scaling back anyways due to the inevitable decline of players over time... It literally baffles me.

If blizzard who who have bags on online experance can't get D3 to launch properly then don't expect many others to get it right.

When you think about it, what should Rockstar have done? GTA V have sold 10mill+ copies since release and lets say 50% of those are jumping on at the same time, thats 5million people trying all at the same time to get online. Nothing in the world within reason could have prevented problems, so relax wait a few days and try again.

Thats why after the 2nd freeze, I stopped trying. Its best to just wait so you don't get frustrated. Play the main game while you wait. In due time it will be fixed.

Think about it TC.  Millions of people trying to get online at once.  There is no possible way to sufficiently prepare for that....also to forsee problems that can never be predicted until it hits the public.  Personally, I'm not even going to try online until a few weeks pass.  If that.

It is kind of strange. They make it a self fulfilling prophesy that less people will play than right after launch. If it's a terrible experience, of course people will stop playing.

Lol. "Our servers can't handle the load, we'll just have to wait til people get fed up and stop playing. Then the online will work!"

playing more of the single player is exactly what i would be doing if the online patch didn't break my game and make it impossible to progress. that is why i'm pissed off with rockstar, would have been fine if it was just server overload.
