if u havent already guessed i freeking love klonoa his games are some of the best uniqe and most fun platformers ure ever gunna get to play

but one thing always struck me how did klonoa become so underrated but i think ive got the anwer

its pretty much because people take one look at the games and say *omg im not playing this kiddie crap* i mean seriously yeah klonoa is childish but thats no reason to hate a game klonoa is for everybody not just the little kids yeah it dosent have guns yeah it dosent have violence but that does not mean its not a series of fun platformers

theres so much u can apreciate wether ure young or old like the fun platforming the great music the beautful visuals but all people see in the game is that its only for little kids

another reason it might have failed is because of namcos other franchises hogging the glory games such as tekken pacman dig dug soul caliber etc pretty much are way more popular than the little rabbit klonoa which is a real damm shame

in closing its a shame klonoa never got popular cuz i think i deserves to so what if its kiddie so what if the games are short aslong as there fun thats good enouth for me

I bought Klonoa 1 recently, I have not played another Klonoa game yet (except 2's demo).

I was actually disappointed, I was expecting a great game, I really didn't care about it being kiddie, I just wanted to play it. And was actually surprised to see GS giving it a 9.2.

But I think the game is too slow, and very linear, it became very boring to me after a few hours playing it. I also bought at the same time Tombi (Tomba!), and liked it a lot more, that also might be another reason for me to be disappointed with Klonoa.

On the other hand Klonoa 2 to me seems more fluid and fun.

In my understanding, Klonoa 1 < Tombi 1, i'd rate Tombi an 8.5 - 9.0 and Klonoa a 7.0- 7.5

But that's only my opinion, mind you.

i would praise klonoa 2 if my copy would work but seriously liniar this is a 2d platformer were talking about there not suposd to be non liniar and the reason it was slow because it was more puzzle based than fast and action packed

did u find anything positive bout the first game and u have to remember this was namcos first game in the series of course it isnt gonna be perfect

The Issue with the game is that Klonoa is often regarded as repetitive, and it feels basic. Only the 2nd game of all the games seems to get a lot of praise. But even with the 2nd game, another common issue is that klonoa does not push to have very good graphics: It relies too much on being colorful and artstyle, but games in the series have flat textures, washed out polygons, and models blur in motion. You combine that with other issues the playstation 1 and 2 have with 3D games and graphics, like texture wrapping, then it becomes an issue. It may not have been much of an issue then i will admit for some, but people looking back at them now, or the Wii remake, will see these issues and it may cause people to pass on playing it.

dude klonoa i far from repetetive hell the first one was praised for being non repetetive and the graphics on klonoa look beautiful u do realise klonoa 2 came out in like 2001 the graphics look impresive for early ps2 standerds its not like klonoa is hates hell the series does have a massive cult following for some the issue people see is that its to kiddie and theres nothing good about it but it is

and remember namco did try there best to make a game and people never talk about the good things in the game jut the bad

Klonoa 2 is great.... i don't understand... It can't be as underrated as Extermination which only sold around 0.20M copies in N. America..

I played the Wii remake and didn't think it was good at all. It felt way too basic and the level design was uninteresting. It seemed like a platformer made solely for kids.

I was trying to like it, but I just wasn't feeling it at all, and when my brother, who was watching me play, made the sarcastic comment, "This is better than Super Mario Galaxy," we both laughed and I turned it off. I returned it the next day.

wow im sorry but the target audience was actualy kids and people who grew up with the origonal do u have anything good to say about it im sorry but u people are so unfair on the game if ure gonna critisise a game remember that the game is a remake of a old ps1 game which is loads better due to they didnt use the voice acting and the graphic had more of a charm to them so no klonoa isnt made just for kids its for everyone thats why it says E for everyone

actualy most games made soley for kids are actualy rated eC which means early childhood and if im not mistaken i think klonoa wii was actualy a E10+ game which means everyone 10+ so its far from a soley for kids game i say its for all ages young and old but people never listen to me ^^

Of course it's under rated
Nobody has heard of it, they don't advertise.
I heard about Klonoa from a random forum and gave it a shot(the 2nd one) and it was fun as hell. Best ambient soundtrack in a game I've heard, it's so nice lol. 60fps, great art style, good mechanics.
Only problem is it's a bit too easy.

I tried the first game, the Wii one and it's also great.
Game is way too easy though, beat the last boss my first try and I'm not that good at platformers.
One of the prettiest Wii games for games for sure, and on such a small budget.

2nd game is much better.

plsmen

the game turns surprisingly a lot better once you realize that you can change the voices to the original madeup language.

2nd game is a lot better though.

Game is too pretty at 1080p with AA. One of my friends just played a bit to see where the art style went.

Random screen I took when I was playing it like a year ago I had saved.

It relies too much on being colorful and artstyle, but games in the series have flat textures, washed out polygons,

Washed out polygon? wat

Motion blur, I couldn't tell if there was any.

And if I can't then it's not an issue because I have a 144hz display, and have about the 2nd or 3rd best rail in NA in QL. I'm p deaf n blind though.

Not to be disrespectful, but please write in English, with grammar and commas. It's a better way to prove your point on a game you like, the way you're doing it just seems like an 11 year-old writing.

I liked the first one (Original and remake)

But I personally thought 2 was far superior, storyline and gameplay-wise.

I personally thought it was a lot of fun. I sometimes think it would be great to have my original psx copy. I didn't notice motion blur at all, and I thought the graphics were great. The Wii remake is still on my to get list. Personally, I think you should just like it and not care what others think of it.

I am saying that the budget was very low compared to a game like Sonic Colors and they managed to make it about 80% as pretty.

I actually bought the Klonoa remake for Wii... I don't know if it was a poor remake, but I really did not enjoy that game. I am a completionist though so I managed to get everything in the game... Maybe I'll give it a second chance though. I'm a massive platformer fan and a strong believer in giving games the fairest shakes I can.

I got Klonoa Door To Phantomile for the PS Vita. I remember when I played it on the original Playstation. The follow up on the PS2 was a great sequel to the original masterpiece. The graphics were great. I miss Klonoa and it was very underrated and didn't gain a stable amount of attention, unfortunately. )*:

Yep.

I have the fantastic "Wii-make."

They were going to do the same for the sequel on Wii, but the first game sold quite poorly.  Shame, we could've even seen a 3rd game if all that went great.
