Kojima wanted Gray Fox, not Raiden, in Metal Gear Rising

Hideo Kojima would have preferred if the star of the new Metal Gear game had been the cyber ninja Gray Foy, rather than "running nude" Raiden, but since he was committed not to interfere with the development of the game he decided to let his staff decide. And they picked Raiden. Over Gray Fox.

Yeah, Gray Fox would have been infinitely better. Raiden is a little bltch compared to him.

I like how Kojima is always levying these controversial decisions on his "staff" like the decision to end MGS4 like it did and now this.

I'd play a game where you control badass 'Jack the Ripper' kid soldier Raiden. That would be epicness on a different scale.

If this had been the case, the game probably could have been much better. Don't get me wrong, it still looks pretty awesome but after hearing this idea, I think it would have been spot on to have Gray Fox as the character and Kojima actually doing this game.

Everyone wanted a Raiden game after MGS4. I didnt know anyone who was clamoring for a Grey Fox game.

That said, Kojima needs to stop throwing his team under the bus. First, he blamed his team for the ridiculous MGS4 ending then the whole Metal Gear Raiden fiasco and now this. We get it. His team cant get a game going without his leadership, but what does it say about the leader? He has led this team for the past 25 years. 25 years. And he cant find a single person beside himself to lead a game? I find that hard to believe.

I am really glad they decided to go with Raiden as the main character, and not just because he's been my favorite character since MGS2.
But a game starring Gray Fox before he became the cyborg ninja; one that is based on when he was in his prime in Foxhound, that would be pretty cool.

Gray Fox that character that did little and matter that much. Look like the made the right choose. Kojima go make some long, worthless cutscenes you can add to a game.

...try to explain how Frank Jaeger aKa Gray Fox would have survived to being flattend like a Pizza to the Wall from Metal Gear Rex in the End Fight of MGS1

I assume this is pretty deadly to a Cyborg as well as to a human being. Would also pretty much change the outcome for the later installments when Naomi wouldn't have lost her Brother in terms of her revenge plan etc.

I don't understand how you could make a game about Grey Fox. He really doesn't strike me as a protagonist character.

I thought we all liked Raiden now. Poor guy can't catch a break. New Dante thinks he has it tough - Raiden has had to listen to this for over a decade :)
