Was just wondering whether anyone knows what the basic story for L.A. Noire is?
Have watched a few trailers and gameplay etc. but haven't really picked up any strong sense of what the story will be.

Its you playing as a cop in post WWII in the late 40s. As you move up in rank from a cop in uniform to a homicide detective, all the crimes that you see are somehow connected in some serious villianous plot; possibly to have all criminals take over the city (I'm not sure what the end plot is; that's been hush-hush. I've watched the preview trailer and thats what I've gotten out of it)Was just wondering whether anyone knows what the basic story for L.A. Noire is?

Yeah, I hear you, Elann. Motion-capture technology isn't enough to make a game feel fun. It all boils down to the gameplay itself. And as far as I know, so many other adventure games have already done what LA Noire is trying to do. This game can easily be compared to the early Police Quest series, with a little bit of action elements thrown in, to make the flow of the story more fast-paced.
Those people hoping that it will be exactly like GTA will end up disappointed because LAN is not a fully open world game; it's more like Mafia 1/2. The game's emphasis is on its story-driven and on being pretty linear for the most part. So don't expect much nonlinearity here, save for the dialogue options.
I remember when my friend got pretty annoyed with his next door neighbors talking to him all the time about Naruto. So much, in fact, that he hated the show. I guess that I'm in the same playing field as him.
Agreed. I can't believe I'm saying this but I'm no longer excited for LA Noire. Initially, I might have been caught on the hype-wagon, but that has dwindled down to almost nothing. I'll probably await word for a PC version in the works or hit the bargain bin for the console version.Yeah, I hear you, Elann. Motion-capture technology isn't enough to make a game feel fun. you know what, i would like to see you guys try and make a better game than this? Oh wait? Thats right im betting you couldnt. Instead of complaining about why you dont think this game is going to be great why dont you start giving the people who worked on this game and put in 7 years of there life into making it something we all enjoy a little bit of a praise huh? Stop making such stupid opinions if you havent even played it yet. And considering there is hardly and videos out there that REALLY show the game off you should really just stfu. k thanks.
