Largest missed opportunity?

Inspired by the Greatest Find post, I pose the opposite question. What is that one time where you passed something up and you came to regret it? For me, it was back when Valkyrie Profile for the PS1 was out and there were plenty of copies available at my local Toys 'R Us and I didn't even get a single copy. As we all know, the game has since fetched crazy amounts on eBay. Obviously, I had no way of knowing, but it bothers me because besides the fact that I wasn't able to hoard a few copies and make a tidy profit, I didn't even grab my own copy.

Ugh, I agree there. I am only able to own that game because I only have the discs when I bought them at EBgames...no artwork, no cases, nothing...sucks.

yeah you are so right. i had to pay 120 bucks for it on ebay to get the complete collection.

my personal missed opportunity is persona revelations...two years ago it had been on sale for 40$, now i am lucky to find it anyway.

it's now on ebay for 130 bucks :cry:

fire emblem for gc...god i should have bought that one. i saw a copy of disgea for $40...didn't want to spend that much on a used copy. saw a sealed ff9 for $10 didn't cop it.

but my biggest miss out was an n64 for $10! i didnt bring my wallet

The day I went and decided to pick it up I was told by countless stores that it was discontinued :(

FF7 for $19.99 in the bin at EB. I thought "I have it for PC. Why bother?".

well your gonna laugh well it was 2005 i saw timesplitters 1 for ps2 and i had timesplitters 2 and 3 this was the only one i needed to complete it ,, so i past the oppertunity so i payed big time when i had got stuck with a beat up used copy of it , worked but ya ,, that was a missed oppertunity others would include when i had to replace marioparty 4 and didnt now i cant find it any where even eb or gamestop

2. Where the crap was I in 2003 when they were practically giving the dreamcast away for 50? The games were getting the same big savings too.

When I was a noob gamer, I had the choice between a bionicle game for gameboy, and Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time. I didn't know what LoZ was so I chose bionicle. I now know that is the worst gaming choice of all time.

Recent one is Tetris DS. Saw it EVERYWHERE for 19.99. Now it's selling for $50+ used and $60-90+ new

Gameboy Printer.

Well, I was like 7. I had to take this test at school where I had to memorize all the states and capitals and their locations in the USA. My mom was going to get me the GB Printer as a reward if I did good. I lied about my grade, used white out to fix it, and she found out. I got like 47 out of 50 or something and she got real pissed. Now I don't have old timey pictures of Pikachu hanging on my wall in black and white or pictures of Mario from my Mario Bros. DX game. :( I'm a real diehard fan of classic items.

I lament not for games, but game systems. It starts early:

Colecovision (I wanted to play Donkey Kong on it so bad)

Atari 400 computer, Atari 800 computer, Atari 5200(the controller rocked) Atari ST(graphics were amazing)

Commodore Amiga (again, great graphics. Anybody remember when EB sold computers?)

Mac computers when I had a PC. Or any PC that was better than mine. At that time, most were.

PCs fro when I had a Mac. More games on PC. This situation will eventually be remedied

probably was about 2 years ago at a car boot sale a guy had shenmue 1 and 2 for dreamcast (Australian version) like new. wanted like $20 each australian. i didnt have the money then and had to leave em...should have told em to hold on to em and that i would see em and buy when had the money a few days later:cry: i have shenmue 1 that i got elsewhere ages later but still dont hav shenmue 2 :(

System Shock 2 was 10$ about 6 years ago, as was Planescape: Torment and Fallout.

Also, I was about to buy a copy of FF7, but decided to save my cash :cry:

Because nowadays, a new copy would go for about 50&+ dollars, and I saw a new one a couple of years ago for 15$.

Marvel vs Capcom 2-When i got rid of my Ps2 I sold it for like 30 bucks...wish I had it now, never thought I would have a PS3:evil:

On Ebay saw a guy selling A dreamcast with 4 remotes, 4 vmus and 2 rumblepacks with one great game collection which had:

Power Stone 1 and 2, Shenmue, Spawn in the Demon's Hand, Sword of The Berserk, Marvel vs Capcom 1 and 2, Jet Set Radio, RE: Code Veronica, Resident Evil 3, Blue Stinger, and Carrier for 100 bucks, and at the time, I thought it was too much money :?

Saw a copy of MGS Twin Snakes for 10 clams at my local Blockbuster about 3 weeks ago...no money on me...

Wow, I can sympathize with that one. That's terrible.

I could have bought Koudelka for the PS1 (a game that's been on my whishlist here at GameSpot for quite some time) for about $ 17.The only place I've ever seen that sells a copy is an online store that charges $ 45.

SMT: Digital Devil Saga II. Two copies, sealed, 14.99 each.

Just to make to make things worse it was a "buy one, get one half off" deal as well.
