IDK? I still think that one or two more games are coming out for the PS2 so I guess I'll have to wait till then.

The last one I played and enjoyed was Hitman. A couple of months ago I went on a buying used games for PS2 spree at Gamestop. I was like a girl in a Hanna Montana store.

You already got the two I was going to mention, specifically Persona 4 and Yakuza 2. Here's to hoping for a US release of the next two Yakuza games on PS3. :(

Recent titles? I would have to say Persona 3 FES, Persona 4,Yakuza 2 and Devil Summoner 2 is decent.

Persona 4 is the last great one I got. Most people think that Devil Summoner 2 is at least good if not great.

Persona 4 was amazing, Okami was incredible, Final Fantasy 12 was also very good

Persona 4, Okami, and Rogue Galaxy sent the PS2 off IMO. All GREAT games too.

Dude, not to long ago we've gotten TM:HO Extra Twisted, KoF 98 Ultimate Match, and most recently Samurai Shodown Anthology. Ahhh, I want Sega to give us more collections (Hello Master System Collection, with Knuckles Chaotix, Toejam & Earl, Kolibri, and some other cool unlockables), and SNK MUST give us Garou! ;_;

I'd love a collection of more SNK games, especially earlier non-Neo Geo stuff like Ozma Wars, Psycho Soldier, and the main attraction, Crystalis.

Everytime I think of "The last great PS2 game", I always laugh at all that hype for Black. So much for "the last great PS2 game", huh? :)

Screw you, DManSteelerFan. Extra Twisted was extra awesome. It could've used some 4P support (and upgrade powerups in versus mode of Head-On), and whatever they did for the video compression was annoying since the videos would skip, but all in all it's pretty much what I expected and it's fun. Plus, Lost pretty much brought back TMB and gave us a little extra sampling of new material. It was damn cool being able to play some new TMB levels, having an extra character (and Gold Tooth, if you even count that), having the TM2-style high-jumping, and all that. Plus, as simple as it was, running around as Sweet Tooth in an asylum was a nice novelty.

Despite the bugs that were in it(thanks NIS) Ar tonelico II was pretty good. It wasn't the calibur of Persona 4, but a lot of RPG's aren't.

well the last game for ps2 i bought was the force unleashed and it was great. they have it for all platforms but its one of the best thats probably gonna come out as late as it is for the ps2

That's ok, DManSteelerFan. I didn't mean to respond that harshly, either. Extra Twisted was a low-budget port by nature, I expected that fully. I knew that like the GTA PSP ports, any online features would be cut, and unfortunately it didn't support multitap either. It sucked that the videos were so glitchy. That and the saving, my save got corrupted twice. :/

But yeah, it was a low-budget, low priced port, especially nice for TM fans who missed out on the 10th anniversary of the series on the PSP and wanted a new game to play. It's no Twisted Metal Black, I doubt they'll ever put quite that much effort into a Twisted Metal game again, but it's pretty good.

Oh, and since neither of us have mentioned it, Small Brawl was a cool game. Silly, yes, but the gameplay was totally there and was probably the closest to Twisted Metal 2, moreso than Head-On. The levels were particularly great in that one, and my favorite character to play, while not terribly original, was the enigmatic copycat Mime (all we know is, it was a girl controlling it. :P). Billy Calypso was pretty stupid looking, even for an elementary school bully (By the way, I LOVE TM2 Calypso! He's badass [Intro], funny [Shadow ending], and even a coward [NO! PLEASE NO! IT'S SCARY DOWN THERE! XD, plus his voice and appearance are too awesome.]), but some of those endings in Small Brawl were pretty funny, especially Shadow, Mr. Slam, and Crimson Fury.

THe last truley great one came out years ago. It was Bully.

I never got Black but was curious. Then I heard so many bad things. Is it worth getting for $20? FPS are not my favoite, but I do enjoy them from time to time.

I agree with this. I'd also add God of War 2 and Final Fantasy XII when considering the last generation of games that came out for the system.

The last great PS2 game released that I played was God of War II.

Persona 3 and 4, Final Fantasy X and XII but you I will not limit myself since they are still making games for the PS2 and there may be for great ones to come.

Persona 4 was a recent release after all and who knows what is yet to come:)

SMT: Persona Games are pretty much the cream of the crop for the PS2's last days. There are a few more good games coming like Mana Khemia 2 later this month, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 next month and Sakura Wars later this year.Flamestos
