The Resident Evil series seems as though it's never going to end, while most of the games have been great, there have been quite a few bad ones. I like almost all of the games but the only one that I don't like is the Survivor series, specially the first one. The Outbreak games were pretty disappointing as well, and I can't forget to mention Resident Evil Gaiden for Gameboy color, that one was just flat out horrible.

I'd have to say Outbreak. It was not at all what I had expected, a lot less in fact.

Dead Aim for sure. I cant really put 5 on the list because I did enjoy it, but it was one of my least favourites in the series.

I never played the offshoot games like Outbreak so just basing it off the main series I would say 5.

At the time when the first one came out I loved, and the second was cool to. Not until part four I regained interest. Also when I saw the movies I started to get intrested in the games that were based on the movie, like Nemesis(never really sat down and played it like the others ) , so my least favorite to answer the question all except 1-4-5 and maybe 2 (the N64 version).

I thought that Resident Evil Dead Aim was just a quick cash-in attempt and I really didn't like it. As others on here have stated, the Outbreak games had great ideas but very poor execution.I also found Umbrella Chronicles to be very disappointing, with its shoddy controls and annoying gameplay perks.

Ah! Yes, Umbrella Chronicles, the idea looked better on paper and it was a huge let down once I got to play the game finally. I found it to be boring and quite repetitive. I wish it played more like a House of the Dead game, maybe then I would have liked it alot more. I agree about the Outbreak series being an interesting idea, but it was pulled off horribly. Nevertheless, I hear that Resident Evil 5's netplay blows Outbreak's out of the water.

If you're referring to the main series, then I would choose Resident Evil 5. Visually, the game is unparalleled; but I can't seem to enjoy the derivative gameplay.

well tbh it depends what you would class as a proper Resi game because you can count stuff like umbrella chronicles, Resident evil Gaiden, Dead aim, survivor and outbreak if you do count them I would say Gaiden is appalling the battle system was awful and I found it rock hard if we are counting the proper 1s then def no 5 no puzzles no scares and a crap story

Really? You must of have not played to many games this gen LOL. RE5 wasn't a bad game at all. It wasn't a good Resident Evil title (just like RE4) and it sure as heck wasn't a survival horror title.

to be honest, id have to say, resident evil 4 and by proxy 5.

I feel the new resident evil 'look' has ruined the series. When i played 4 i never got the feel of terror and fear of coming up against the simplist of foes. This is because the game is an action game and no longer a survival horror game, where ammo is somewhat rare, and there isnt a billion weapons to pick up. the game(s) 4 and 5 may have great stories, and solid gameplay mechanics but to me, they just dont have the resident evil feel i got from the first 3 and CV

I think if the games didnt carry the resident evil name i would like them.

I've played plenty LOL... and when i play a resident evil game i expect a survival horror, don't you ? i think it was a terrible game, but that's my opinion.

As much as I like RE4 and 5, I did find them to be a bit disappointing, especially RE5. Well RE4 did bring a lot of new fans to the franchise, I never really liked how the series was heading towards a much more "mainstream" direction. I really hope that Capcom takes the series back its Survival Horror roots with RE6, but I doubt they will...

Out of the main story: RE4 & 5 are the worst for me. If you include spin offs Dead Aim is probably the worst.

Resident Evil 4 and upwards. They are fun but they're not Resident Evil. As for the Outbreak games, I enjoyed them. Probably the last games to follow the old Resident Evil formula sadly. I'm sure I also stand alone in this matter.

No your not alone in that opinion, as I always felt that RE4 and 5 were not Resident Evil games. They are fun games, but there is nothing survival-horror about them. They are action games, straight and simple. In fact RE5 probably had the least to do with anything RE, it just felt like I was playing some action game with Chris Redfield in it. It's like Capcom totally forgot how the series started....

I have played only 3 of them.

  • Resident Evil 4
  • Resident Evil Code Veronica X
  • Resident Evil 2 on PC

The worst one was of PC, very difficult controls, bad graphics(acceptable because of the era the game was developed in), Code Veronica X on PS2 was difficult with controls as well. RE4 was a phenomenon.

RE4. It was a fun game, but it basically removes everything I love about the old games and its the only one I can't bring myself to play again. Never played RE5 after RE4 and don't intend to buy any more RE games unless Capcom releases a classic game or hybrid.

It's more fun if you unlock Solo mode. And if you give your team weapons and stuff sometimes you can get them to survive, shoot enemies for you, and other stuff but yeah the AI is pretty much crap. I find the second one to be really enjoyable though. They're very difficult games, but ...

Seemed like if I gave them weapons they wouldn't use them all that much. Shame I never unlocked that mode, and now the game has moved on to a used game store. Whenever I think of that game I hear that old black guy say, "Find anything useful?", over and over again.

I actually liked outbreak, besides the having to start over at the beginning of the level. I LOVED 4 and enjoyed 5. I also really liked the original and code veronica. I think my least favorite of the ones i've played would be outbreak I suppose
