I know, I know, L4D2 is very prevelant and a lot of people play it, but I honestly feel it is not getting the respect it deserves in the gaming community. I have never enjoyed, or been more satisfied with a game in my life. I can literally sit in front of my computer and play L4D2 for hours on end, while games like MW2 or Killzone 2 (both up for best competitive multiplayer) I get frusterated with in around an hour and have to quit. I realize L4D2 is up for best competitive also, but we all know it is not going to win. I am just glad Gamespot recognizes that it is good. L4D2 is a far better game than MW2 in my opinion, I bought MW2 for the Xbox 360, which it is supposed to be best on, and as soon as L4D2 came out the next week I have barely touched MW2. L4D2 did far more in terms of revolutionizing multiplayer than MW2 did. MW2 is just the same old thing, while L4D2 created an entirely new competitive multiplayer, well I gues L4D did, but 2 builds upon it greatly. Out of all the games that have come out this year I can easily say that L4D2 is my favorite.

REALLY?! at most its OVERRATED! i think GS's 9.0wasa bitundeserved..i bought L4D2 and honestly it was fun, chainsawing zombies, crushing skulls with frying pans, but the new zombies and special infected were just annoying, the spitter really pissed me off, and dont get me started on the jockey, id have to say the worst of them all was that guy that just keeps slamming you into the ground over and over..L4D2 DID NOT "revolutionize multiplayer gameplay" how can you say that L4D2 did what MW2 did not? they just added new weapons and ways you can be revived, and incendiary bullets is nothing new anyone whos played Borderlands can tell you that. They just added more weapons and new ways to heal or be revived like the AED. some people like L4D2 some people prefer MW2 theyre just games, all theyrehere for is entertainment. THATS IT!

Yeah I think it's good but you can tell it was rushed by Valve. There are little things that they didn't put in like animations for the new special infected, and the pistols. Other than that the difficulty is imbalanced. I was playing on advanced and it's easy through the whole thing and then at the finale there was ammo put in the middle of nowhere with 4 tanks. There's other small things that they did also like make some weapons far to large (the hunting rifle, for example). The shotguns also feel a bit too weak but I guess they were overpowered in the first. Some levels are very bad as well. For example Dead Center 3, the mall; it's just the same two level mall section throughout the whole thing and you can tell they just tried to make it as long as possible. I think that the finales aren't that good as the first one either. I think it's a great game but I can't help but feel they could have have it miles better with some more development time.

I played it over at a friend's house, it feels more like a 20 dollar downloadable expansion than a full-priced new game. If anything, I'd say it's overpriced and overrated.

There are valid complaints to be made about L4D2 like allied Ai, and some difficulty balancing, but it is the gam that has brought me the most enjoyment in multiplayer gaming by far. I just love playing as the special infected in scavenge, and versus.

I feel like the people who are saying its overrated have only played single player with bots. The game is not meant to be played by yourself, it is meant to be played with 3 other people at least. The AI is terrible, I will agree with that, thats why you don't play with AI, you play online like its meant to be played. Competitive versus and scavenge are the two of the best game types I have ever played in any multiplayer game. And the crap about how its overpriced... give me a break. I was sceptical at first too when they announced it only a year after the first. I have played the living crap out of the first one and I can tell you that the second one is better 10 fold. I will never go back to the first one. There isn't much obvious change, most of them are under the hood. Alot of balancing and tweaking went into the game and I fully appreciate all of it. I would gladly pay 50 bucks for the game, plus I have seen it as low as 25 dollars on Steam, you know why? Because Valve cares about it's customers. I personally got it for 33 bucks because I pre-ordered the 4 pack with 3 friends. And if that is not enough Valve supports it's games like no other company. They have already announced an entire new campaign with new weapons and infected for early next year, FREE OF CHARGE... for the PC that is. (Microsoft is communist)

Well it's exactly like the first one so i can't see how it's that amazing. ANd its super short like the first one. THey came out with this so fast they had to of been working on it when they had the first one complete. Why didn't they just release them together and have a game thats not less than 4 hours of singleplay?

Nope, as I said, I played it over at a friend's place and over xbox live. It's too similar to be a 60 dollar new game, like I said, it should have just been a 20 dollar downloadable expansion.

I bought the original Left 4 Dead expecting Valve would expand the fairly limited content that comes with the game over the coming months, as they have done with practically every title they've previously released (as can be clearly seen in the support that Team Fortress 2 received, and still is receiving). What actually happened was they pumped out a sequel, and I use that term loosely, as fast as they could, releasing it less than 12 months after the original.

It has all the makings of a downloadable expansion pack, but is marketed as a full game, which is entirely unjustified. Why couldn't Valve just spend another year on development and make sure that the second was packed with a ton of new content, justifying it being sold as sequel, whilst still supporting the community of the original?

Never been fan of online coop, so naturally I dislike Left 4 Dead

Dsilike is a heavy word actually, I tend not to enjoyit as fervently as some do, it has great shooting mechanics and is fun to play, but without a decent single player the L4D series just doens't keep me entertained.

I think you are missing the point of L4D, it is supposed to be short...but it is different every time you play because of the AI Director.

That being said, I think L4D2 is inferior to the original. I like that there are more campaigns and they are longer, and I like the new items and weapons, but the AI is terrible which sucks because my brother and I play on Expert and it is really difficult to find people skillful enough to play that online.

The new special infected are too cheap, and they come out to often. The biggest problem is that shove is on cooldown, which by itself makes it just about impossible to make it through an entire expert campaign without taking any damage which I was able to do in the original.

No, I disagree there. I played it with online multiplayer (like it's meant to be played) and it feels more like a $20-$30 expansion more than a full out new game. Although there were plenty of new features (melee weapons) it plays just about the same as L4D and I probably wouldn't reccomend it to anybody who already has the first game.

To be entirely honest, L4D2 feels a lot more like an expansion. There really isn't anything about it that they couldn't have just made into DLC.

Its Overrated. and its not as revolutionary as you may think because its just a different potrayal with more content of the original L4D. L4D was revolutionary. not so much L4D2. Its just a good game.

It's fun, but overrated. It wasn't worth the initial price tag. It was indeed an off-step from Valve's usual pursuit of things.

Really? I thought the Dead Center and The Parish finales were pretty fun compared to the usual hold out scenarios. On topic: Honestly, it's most likely overrated, but it's still a great game.

For a multiplayer only game getting a 9.0 is very high already, anything higher is overrated.

I got it from gamefly, played it about five times, then sent it back. I loved the first one but the second one didn't really do anything to bring me back into it. It just felt like more of the same and other then weapon placements changing the levels are always the same.

It's one of those games with an extremely long life expectancy. A 9.0/10 is well deserved, considering that this game will be still alive for years, while many other 9.0ers will only ever experience a few months to a year's glory. It will not just be remembered, it will be played.

This game is hugely ... I mean hugely overrated. L4D is the game that ruined whole zombie genre. Survival game with unlimited ammo? This game should get 8.0 and nothing more.

I think it was underrated too. It's simply better than the original in every way - certainly far more worthy of its full $40 pricetag than the first one was when it came out. They couldn't (and shouldn't) have released this as free DLC, imo.

I don't feel it deserves any more respect than your yearly NFL game. But I'm just someone still bitter over the decision to axe L4D1 incredibly early for a quick cash in.

I dont understand how you can say that they arent bringing anything new to the game with the second one, what do you expect??? ITS ALL ABOUT KILLING ZOMBIES AND SURVIVING!! the only thing they can do is add more ways to kill zombies, survive, and heal yourself, such as melee weapons, scavenge, the AED, adrenaline shot..do i need to explain this any further?

Yah, I haven't played L4D2, but I have played the first one, and I found it insanely fun. If the second is anything like the first, it should have at least racked up some more awards.

I wasn't too thrill when I heard they were releasing this game after L4D came out last year. After playing it I fell in love with the game and found it better than the first one. The only thing that L4D is superior is the AI are smarter. L4D2 AI are just simply broken.

I spent so many hours on playing versus. It is just addicting. There are so many different ways to attack the survivors as SI due to how open the maps are instead of the narrow levels in L4D.

How is this game underrated? I'm the type of person that plays games, often times unknowing of big releases. Before and after release, everybody I know that plays games has told me to try L4D. That isn't underrated.

Many X360s don't have tons of hard drive space (arcades don't ship with hard drives and older X360s only had 11-12 GB of free space) so the Team Fortress 2 model isn't viable on the X360.

I thought Left 4 Dead 2 was pretty bad. Before I played it, I was excited to see what makes these games so popular, and in the end I couldn't. I only played the game for an hour or an hour and a half and the game got old really fast, even while playing with six other friends.
