legend of dragoon is one of the most underapprieciated games ever, i've heard many times " i never heard of the game, so it must not be good" i literly hate when people say this, how do you not like a game if you havent even played it. it had one of the best battle systems ever, the first with its addition comboes and had a original story like no other. it was implemented as a japanese rpg but it had western concepts. i would love to live in that world again as there should be a sequel or a remake.

I completely agree. I haven't played another game that had a battle system like it. If you had a fast finger, you could do massive damage with a simple item, or could pull off killer combos with the right timing.

I would LOVE to see a sequel or remake of it for the systems of today.

I just got Legend of the Dragoon about a month ago. I saw it in a game shop where I live for $20, and it brought back old memories. I had to have it, so I traded in a bunch of my old DVDs for it. I love it. It's terribly underappreciated. It wasn't as good as the best Final Fantasy games (which I'm sure everyone gets tired of every single RPG being compared to Final Fantasy, but hey, it's pretty much become the benchmark for quality RPGs), but it was still a very good RPG capable of standing on its own two feet and being in my top ten RPGs I've played.

I definately remember this title. It was one of those 4-disc titles on PS1(aww good ol days ^_^). I really liked the story, and loved it's combat system. I wish a remake or a sequel were coming out....but that's just wishful thinking now(or isit.....)

I liked it and it was one of the most played game ever for me. looking back though I can see where the problems lie. either way, I liked this game a lot.

my friend had this game back in the day and i borrowed it from him. i dont think the story wowed me that much and i dont remember the combat being that great. but that was a long time ago and i would enjoy playing it again. it's definitely a good rpg but i dont think its up there with the likes of vagrant story and xenogears.

I don't like RPGs but I'll watch someone play them. I watched a buddy of mine who's really into RPGs play this one back in middle school. I remember the cut scenes being pretty nice.

The game's good,

I like the event when transforming into Dragoon form, even though the attack command is way too difficult, this game is worth-playing

Probably my favorite JRPG on the PS1. Just awesome. The last boss was very tough to beat. I think I played throughit 3-4 times.

I had a blast playing that game. For me it compares to FF7 with the number of times I've replayed it. I remember when I first found Gamespot I searched up the game to check its review score. I was a bit shocked when I realized it was as low as it is.

Personally i sometimes found the game to feel a bit of a chore to play, other times not so bad...but i did finish it so enjoyed it enough. It was a good challenge with the optional bosses/side quests etc and i would say the limitations in battle were probably a good thing, say like the strategy...having to be a dragoon to cast magic, choice of defend to recover etc, unlike in ff7 where any character can pretty much do anything. I definately didnt find it too easy which i found a good thing. I would only play through it once though i think. It is underated though because it really does have a lot of neat concepts etc, and i always liked turning my characters into dragoons :P.

Yes it is. LoD stands as one of the best RPGs to have ever existed. GS gave it a 6.4, so their credibility is clearly gone.

I bought it a while ago when I saw it used somewhere for really cheap. I'm not exactly sure why I haven't gotten around to playing it yet. Perhaps I'm just intimidated by how long people have said it can take. It's definitely on my "games to play" list.

yeah it's a pretty lengthy RPG. but it's really good, you should at least give her a shot. just don't get too frustrated with the battle system (it may take a bit to adjust to it :P)

Totally agree with TC. LoD is really underappreciated. It has flaws, but the characters, story and battle system makes it really worthwhile. Try it people, it's a great game. Also, it has the best CGI ever for the PSone.
