Legend of Zelda VS Final Fantasy (Music)

There have probably been countless TLOZ VS FF threads but how many of them have been about music?

Which is better? Give your honest opinion and none of this "FF coz nintendo suxz lolz" or "Zelda just because" I would like to see GOOD well rounded arguments for both or at least a brief explanation as to why you prefer one over the other.

Final Fantasy though when your in the fairy cave in Zelda I could fall asleep to that amazing music. Its so gentle and peacful.Mage_7

Eh, this is kind of a hard thing to discuss, for at least a few reasons:

1. The games are going for relatively different approaches to soundtracks, especially in terms of scale and production

2. It's hard to compare the series of one game to the series of another, when you have several games in each of the series, and varying composers working on those games.

That's just my take on the matter.

As far as I know, the music for Zelda has stayed almost the same throughout the games, with some variations of course, themes such as the menu music, the getting of items from chests and when you unlock a door or solve a puzzle.

Final Fantasy music changes all the time with the exception of the victory fanfare.

We could narrow it down to Ocarina of Time and FF VII :/

My fav will always be FF mostly because im not a Zelda fan.

Of the series my favourite would be FFX-2.

In my opinion, Final Fantasy wins by far over zelda regarding music.

I'd have to take Final Fantasy's side on the music line up, Each and every game had a fairly memorable score created by Uematsu, though live concerts have seen Zelda music played directly alongside scores from Final Fantasy. (Play! Eminence as two examples). I have a feeling though if the Zelda series had more musical themes it would be on par with Final Fantasy.

Well, I prefer the FF music. I honestly don't know why I prefer it, but the music in both games is awesome. I guess To Zanarkand takes the cake for me. I really like the piano.

I honestly love both, I've been a fan of Zelda from the NES days and my interest to video game music was born, whereas Final Fantasy is... what can I say? I can listen to it for days on repeat.

Final Fantasy has a much better score than Zelda, it conveys emotion pertaining to the situation on a whole different level.
