The whole thing, from MK1 - Armageddon and everything in between V.S Street Fighter - Alpha series/ 3rd Strike and all the ones in the middle.

Street Fighter.

favorite: Street Fighter 2. any of them.

Shouldn't even be discussed... Street Fighter.

I'm going to have to go with an undisputed acade fighter which i still own and play to this day and go for the street fighter series.

still prefer tekken though lol

MK is a button-masher...

Street Fighter wins by virtue of having actual depth.

As a fight game Street Fighter is much better than Mortal Kombat ever was even with the new MK graphics and customizable moves. Just about everything in the world beats MK at being a fighter game.

However. MK has more heart and soul than just about any other fighter game out there(slight exception: Soul Calibur). The characters are unique, they have backgrounds, there is a mortal kombat universe with a bunc of different worlds and conflicts going on. Tekken, Virtua fighter and Street Fighter are a complete joke in that regard.

Lets see I dont want to bring up other games so let me just wrap it up. I'd rather play Street Fighter but i'd rather own Mortal Kombat.

Mortal Kombat is an ancient tome to everything that was taboo in the 90's

Street Fighter is an epic tome of everything SNK tried to do with their arcade games, perfected in literally two releases.

It was a close comparision in 1995, but this is 2008. Street Fighter is the measuring stick of what a fighter needs to do in America (since Melty Blood will never make it here) and Mortal Kombat is a niche title that sees a release every year.

So Street Fighter in a landslide.
