im playing mgs on hard (havent unlocked extreme) and man its been like 9 years since i last played it on the playstation. and just recently i reached the part where you fight liquid snake on top of rex and the timer is ticking. i forgot how annoying the battle is. he pulls off cheap moves... reall really cheap moves... and i accidentaly hit exit on the game over screen. and the best part is my last save was inputting the pal codes -_-

goddamn ive never been so frustrated playing a video game before. even online games.. maybe because im fighting an AI and not a real person...

1. Punch-punch-kick
2. Run around
3. Rinse, repeat

Is it really that hard? I find it to be the easiest of all the boss fights in the game... and I just replayed it again a couple months ago. You just keep hitting him and moving around when you aren't given the window to hit him.

I think you're doing it wrong. I didn't have much trouble at all after I figured out his attacks.

well no i mean, i figured out his pattern where he does the roundhouse kick

but i just cant predict his headbutt. he frickin runs across the floor trying to ram me with his head. and his headbutt is what does the most damage. its so damn annoying. like i have the upper hand and he has 50% health. then out of nowhere, he does the headbutt and i lose 45% health. its like hes honda or something. or is it zangief that can fly across the screen with a headbutt?

I didnt think it was THAT hard lol. Its all about timing and not getting greedy and sneeking another punch or kick in ;).

If you get the timing right there is a way to spam punch and get a fair bit of extra damage in :D I haven't done it in years so I can't help but I used to go more on the sound.

well someties its annoying in that you pull off a combo, but only 1 hit would register, and liquid's body would blink so hes invincible for a couple of seconds. but in that time he can attack me.

It's E. Honda. I think the headbutt is a tackle to me. Doesn't he lean over and then rush? Snake and Liquid are twins; they basically have the same body size. So just practice some moves, learn Snake's area for attacks, and use that as the barrier. Barely connecting still causes full damage.

I used to do the constant punch move combo where you had to time your button presses, would put him into lock down so he couldn't move. Beat the robot ninja with it, I was a little games obsessive freak back then I would spend hours perfecting stuff like that.
