it makes me feel highly uncomfortable to think that there might be people walking this planet that, when faced with a choice of all the things you could possibly do with $4, will choose to spend it on re-skinning a video game character. this is a single player game right? i mean i can sort of understand that people want their character to look different in multi player games, but this..

Why would that make you highly uncomfortable?
4 bucks is a cheap combo meal at Taco Bell so I hardly think a person who opts to nab this is some sort of money-wasting moron.
Also, as somebody who doesn't do much multiplayer, I'd be more open to buying single-player content than multiplayer.
well, because, and please correct me if i'm wrong, it's the same game, the same character, basically the same pixels but in different colours. it makes me feel uncomfortable because i can't imagine what on earth goes on between a player and a game if something like this is significant to them. moreover, significant enough to spend money on. i can't imagine buying this over food and i can't imagine how you can call this "content".
the way i play games and how serious i take them is apparently so far removed from how some other gamers and a large publisher perceive this, that uncomfortable was the friendliest way i could think of to describe how that makes me feel.
It's a skin, nothing more. I think most character DLC skins are frivolous purchases but given how much some people adore the original design of Dante it isn't hard to imagine people nabbing it. I certainly wouldn't be so bold as to suggest there is something mentally wrong with a person who decided to purchase this skin even though I think the price is ridiculous nor would I care to speculate on the nature of their lives or gaming habits based on an impulse buy.
