I remember playing Mad Dash with my friend. It was the first game I played, and I couldn't even grasp the controller.
My friends and I would call it the man controller and the smaller version the girl controller. I hated the small model and now that is what 360 uses, good thing I pc game.
Microsoft may have thought that "people will feel they are getting their money's worth a bigger controller", but when I tried to use this controller, it was very uncomfortable
One of the reasons I never considered buying an Xbox. You might as well be holding a brick...Nyxathid_Horrorlol, I was about to post this. If it wasn't for absolutely aweful horrible terrible insanely oversized and uncomfortable controllers I might have bought a box at the launch.
Ive always used the Duke. It was compfortable for me and I have normal size hands. I never even bought an S controller. People made way too big a deal over it.
I've got a couple of those. I bought my x-box almost around when the 360 came out, so I needed to get them used. I played with them at my friends houses though and I can remember thinking they were gigantic, but useable. I definately like the new ones better, but the odl ones are ok in my opinion.
Its for men, it was secretly made that way to discourage women from playing Halo Combat Evolved. We would not want women knowing how to tea-bag, or how to hit someone in the back.... Do we?
What a horrible controller... fanboys who loved that thing and proclaimed it the best controller ever turned me off to ever buying an Xbox.MAILER_DAEMONWhy would 'hype' stop you from playing a game system? Did you actually use the controller (or controller S) or try any games on the system? I'm not saying I thought it was the best ever, I thought it was adequate for controlling the games on that system, and it was the only control available for a while around launch. In comparing the 2, since I was used to the original one, I preferred it over the smaller one. For me games, usually the exclusives, are why I buy a system. I like to decide for myself if something is worth playing or worth buying a system for, not whether any fanboy says something is the greatest ever. Personally, I don't let someone's opinion stop me from trying a game or a system.
I liken the original controller ( which i still have) to playing videogames while holding a loaf of bread.
That controller is the reason you always saw professional athletes playing XBox instead of Playstation: professional athletes, by and large, have huge hands.
I'll let you know when the original xbox becomes old enough where this is worth posting.. you should aim for about 2015-2020.
The Duke!darksword1123
I love your signature picture :D
Beneath a Steel Sky=awesome game
Back on topic, never tried the fat controller, but the 'slim one' is very good, can't really complain.
