I'd say your probably going to be looking at some SNES RPG's if you are wanting longest. I know for me personally, I put 55 hours into FFIII when I first beat it. Of course I was 11 also. I can't really think of any really long games aside from RPG's for the SNES.

ff4 (try getting the adamant armor for all of your characters, you might max out the timer on the game) ff3 (get all the summons and characters and rages) someone also mentioned chrono trigger, its got a LOT of endings and one of the last endings you'll have to max out all your characters to have a chance at the boss battle to get, which will probably entail you playing the game through at least 3 or 4 times.

Outside of RPG's I don't really recall any aprticularly long games on the SNES. At the time most longer games used extreme difficulty moreso then tons of content/story sequences to pad the length.

Donkey Kong 3. I played that game for hours on end and still haven't beaten it. So much in that game.

7th Saga was extremely long, plus you can re-play it with a different character each time...

Most RPGs, Lufia 2 Ancient Cave quest- it could not save any time. I played it for straight 16 hours. I failed to reach 100th floor.

a few people are saying DKC3 but i'm kind of on the fence about that. I didn't beat the game 100% until at least 12 years after i got the cartridge; but i was a kid back then; and i did a 2nd playthrough recently and i beat it in it's entirety in 8 hours
