looking for a old game... help =]

im looking for a playstation 1 game that i used to play before ps2 was out

i have no idea wat its calld or the story (i could never pass the 1st level)

it started off (2player) you and a the other person would walk out of a spaceship type thin

the camera was placed on the side so it lookd 2d but more into the level it would go into a birds eye view

and you would run thru and kill alines (or humans cant remember

ummm its a shooting game

and you can upgrede ur guns (i thnk u pick up things and it has spred fire and stuff)

its futeristic

i cant say much because i never got that far

all i remember is coming off a flying space ship and u run out the back of it and its 2d at that time

then u go thru the level killingthings and its 2d (kind of like old tekken 2d) and you shoot things (cant remember if its aliens or other people)

and at 1 point its in birds eye view and i think ur on lava or red rocks or somthing and need to run to the other end of that bit fsat and theres lots of things you need to kil in that bit

i can relly remember much =[
