Looking to buy Aliens: Colonial Marines. What was so bad about this game again?

After replaying Alien: Isolation a few months back, I saw Aliens: Colonial Marines for sale and for those who played the game, is with worth it? I saw Aliens: Colonial Marines for $15 at Target for Xbox 360 and wanted to see if it's worth the buy cause I didn't follow the game on launch back in 2013 and just heard lots of gamers saying it's a bad game.

It's not all to be tossed in the trash: if you're an Alien fan you'll love the amount of detail and care they put into recreating Hadley's Hope, it's really quite impressive, and the action is passable when the scripts don't bug out, which after various patches is not as frequent as on launch day when most reviews came out.

What really drags the game down are the abysmal boss fights (three of them, one worse than the other) and the generic plot and characters, both of which you can tell were gutted for time from an at least marginally better script. What's left is stupid and forgettable, but I suppose you will get an Aliens kick out of it, and the game is cheap as dirt: I got the limited edition new and sealed for £2.99 some three years ago.

Im a HUGE alien fan. But Colonial Marines was just so poor. It completely lacked 'feeling' - thats the only way I can describe it. I was tempted when I saw it for sale again, but I instantly remembered how much I loathed it and stopped myself.

I havent played it, but from what I saw: terrible alien AI, insultingly bad storyline, extremely short campaign, numerous glitches, bad texures

DO NOT BUY! It's a terrible game and I would know because I'm one of the idiots who bought it. The gunplay sucks, the story sucks, the graphics suck, the AI sucks, the UI sucks, the gameplay mechanics suck... I could go on and on. Alien: Isolation is billions of times better of a game than Colonial Marines, and that isn't even really an exaggeration.

Heard it had gotten better after patches. Also, the DLC is supposed to be pretty good.

Wasn't there a Esports scene for it also? Or am I thinking of something else

I got the game for under $5, so it'll be worth that for the trophies.

I have and loved Aliens: Colonial Marines. Yes, I have heard about and read the bad reviews. But those reviews are the opinions of others, not mine. Personally, I loved Colonial Marines, it was fun! If you like something, then enjoy it.
