I don't really have any preference either way.

I can't say that one version is more fun than the other, but I do thing the controls were better in the NES version, so maybe that one.

super Mario Bros. NES Style. Probabbly because looking at orange mario is just so....epic. I too just got mario all-stars and will see if I like that one better or not.

I think I like the All Start versions but not because of the improved sound/gfx. I like how you can save your game in each of them and how it's all on one Cart.

I got Mario All-Stars about a month ago and I like NES version better. Maybe it's the nostalgia? The gameplay is the same butI just prefer the original.

The NES version of SMB is better but the SNES versions of SMB2 and SMB3 are better.

I'd say the NES one, maybe because of the feel of the controller or something.

This. Also the controls are kind of broken for the first Mario.

I grew up on the NES versions, so I've played those the most. But to be honest, the SNES versions were better. They are essentially the same games, in every aspect, except better graphics and better sound. Plus you get the previously unreleased SMB: Lost Levels with the SNES one, which is actually a challenging platformer. It took me a while to play through it all, by NES standards.

Call me crazy but I enjoy Super Mario Bros 2 and 3 on the SNES. But when it comes to the first Super Mario Bros, then I enjoy that game better on the NES. The reason is that I love the 8 bit graphics and music on the NES verson more then on the SNES. But for some reason I liked the way 2 and 3 looked and sounded on the SNES.

I used to say 3 but after replaying it(and beating for the 1st time) twice on my cousin's Gameboy Advance (2003) and another cousin's GameBoy SP(2007), i have to go with Mario World(SNES) I cant belive how short 3 really is. back in the day, it seem like a life time.

I noticed a awful thing on super mario all stars, super mario bros. 3 contrary to nes version can't afford mario to cross clouds upon levels above, screen looks fixated to regular screen. In NES mario3 you can go up up across the clouds further high this is marvellous and i blame snes version can't

I play them on SNES usually, because I don't have to change cartridges. But it's all the same.
