Mass Effect on PC - confirmed

Here is the EA press release over at Yahoo finance.

Mass Effect is scheduled to come to PC in May.

This is no surprise, I pretty much knew Mass Effect would arrive on PC within a year of the 360 release.....I will admit though that it's coming much sooner then I thought, I expected a Fall PC release.

EA grabbing up BioWare is already looking beneficial.

I'm betting that the Mass Effect sequel will be a multiplatform simultaneous release when it finally comes out.

I expect they'll include the downloadable content that's supposed to come.....but I also hope they put in additional exclusive content in the PC version, like Gears of War.

Next up......a GTA IV PC announcement, which I expect to happen in the next couple of months.

Hmmmm, now it is time to trade in my 360 and start building me a better comp eh? Mass Effect was the only seemingly exclusive I truly liked for the 360 and I knew this would happen, but now maybe it is time? Muwahahaha...-Prime-

Hardly a surprise. I was sure it would come to PC within a year, although I didn't expect it this soon. I'm kind of excited, actually. Can't wait to finally play this thing. :D

Nothing in the first pages, so I guess it's down to me. Just received a press release at the office, which confirms that Mass Effect is coming out on PC. The release promises a revamped interface for the PC version, as well as high resolution graphics (duh). Hope they fix all those bugs and inventory problems.nopalversion

I've read it will be a DirectX 9 XP & Vista release.....so no need to worry about Vista.

Here's some more info from 1up.

• A new optimized interface designed specifically for PC play, with keys and controls totally remappable for those who like to customize their play style.
• High resolution visuals -- textures, characters and environments.
• "Run & Gun Control" with biotic powers and skills mapped to hot keys for a heavier focus on action.
• A new decryption mini-game.
• New inventory screen GUI and functionality, with an enhanced inventory system that makes it easier for players to equip and modify their weapons and armor.
