I would like to know your opinion about whether they prefer video games with 2D mechanical, or whether on the contrary, 3D game mechanics, they find it more attractive for games, because of its greater immersion. Whether this choice, because the games are more attractive to them, are the own of the arcades: beat'em up (or street fighting brawler), platforms, shoot'em up, fight Vs, or run and gun, as is my case. Or if instead, prefer strategy, simulation, FPS / TPS, exploratory adventures, race car driving, ... Basically, AAA games, which are designed today.

I would like to know, for you have chosen one or the other, basically, the answer to reason.

What type of finishes, for video games, more like: photo realistic, semi realistic, halfway, or cartoon? Why?

.

Depends on the Genre. But most of the time I prefer 3D.

As for puzzle and platforming games its not that I prefer them in 2D, I just make allowances for them especiall if theres co-op ! But yeah, everything else in 3D.

More dimensions means more...... Uhm..... More something.

Comes down to what type of game it is, to be fair, some genre's can pull off being 2D and some can't and some can pull off 3D.

Look at the likes of Broken sword 1 and 2 were massive on the ps1 and was one of my great games i've ever played but then came 3 which was just horrid in 3d then they tried to use a point and click system in a 3d world the story worked ok but the 3d models and enviroments just didn't suit it at all.

Monkey island was another one the first 2 were just crazy good with the writing and sword fighting and comedy, number 3 really topped it going forward, but then 4 came out, it was ok but 3D just made it look sooo so so bad.

But then you had Grim Fandango which was a 3d puzzler which worked wonders.

fighting games seem to work in a 2D setting more than a 3D setting,

it really comes down to the developers and the genre which sways it for me.

i must admit the more i get older the less i can play of the retro 2d type games which people are bragging about with these indie titles
