As you guys know metal gear online is closing. I have a question do you guys know why? Was the game ever popular online, even when it came out was it? Or was Metal gear solid only played for campaign?

I had fun with it. I think maybe they believe it's run its course. You know it has been 5 years(almost 6).

Hmm, maybe he means peace walker but I'm not sure if they can shut that one down in the same way.

Online can be fun, but that's not what metal gear is about. I just hope they never take it further than the way peace walker has it.

Totally agreed! Some experiences only work in Offline Mode and all alone, like Tomb Raider and Dead Spa.......OH SNAP >_<

I disagree. The best part of MGS4 was the online. I was only able to finish the campaign once even though I finished MGS1 and 2 several times over. I can't comment on PW's online since I never bothered to try it, so I'd say yes it's unpopular. Probably because it didn't have proper online or unique game modes (like MGS4's TSNE)

I've never really played it myself. But KP were thinking of brining it back I believe (maybe for Ground Zeroes).

i had MGS4 for a while but i never got around to playing the online. i remember trying to once but it just kinda froze on me or something it would take forever to download so i just forgot about it. a shame, i heard it wasn't bad. i just assumed it was another one of those multiplayer that they just throw in for the sake of having multiplayer.
