Damn good question, but I'm going to cop out on this one and say they aren't really all that comparable to me. Both are great games either way. I always have a hard time picking favorites when I feel as though the genres don't really match up. They are similar in some ways and entirely different in others.
I need to get back on Metaphor and beat that damn boss... lol. Also, Expedition 33 is a great game, but lost me a little with the big flying rock guy and I need to find my motivation to go back and play it as well..
I'm currently playing Tainted Grail and loving it. I think I'll finish it first and go back to one of the other two again after that. I'm also going to start playing Crystal of Atlan on the 28th, so I have plenty to keep me busy.
Love Expedition 33 I haven't played Metaphor. I plan on getting Metaphor cheap. If Metaphor is anything like Persona 5 then Expedition 33 gets the win. Persona 5 had flaws, 33 doesn't have any from what I have played.
I do have Metaphor but haven’t played it yet. However Expedition 33 is not only my GotY for 2025 so far but is one of the greatest games I have ever played. The game is fantastic from top to bottom. Gameplay, visuals, story, voice acting, and music are all great.
I got Expedition 33 in part due to the comments in this thread. I played the first half hour. Got distracted. Hope to put in some quality time on this game.
