Both Metroid Prime 3: Corruption and Metroid: other M were great games and great entries in the Metroid franchise.

My rating of them would probably go something like:

  1. Super Metroid
  2. Metroid Prime
  3. Metroid Prime 2
  4. Metroid Zero Mission
  5. Metroid Fusion
  6. Metroid Other M
  7. Metroid Prime Hunters
  8. Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
  9. Metroid (its so old it just lacks the needed graphics IMO)
  10. Metroid II (Same boat as Metroid 1 really)

Super Metroid was the pinacle of the 2D metroid style, then Metroid Prime made it successful in 3D and Prime 2 made improvements and had its own faults. Prime 3....oh man...solid game but not a good metroid. Probably the most dissapointing metroid game to date. Orther M I enjoyed although it really should not have taken the action feel it did. If they are going to do that, it should be more like a third person prime game with an action emphasis. I am not a fan of the melee, auto aim, limited music, and so on in Other M. And corruption took all of what I hated about Hunters (singleplayer) which baffles me. I don't like the mutliple planets, other hunters, and so on. I also hate the feeling that I am always with the federation.

It wasn't 7 years, Prime 1 came out in 2002, Prime 2 in 2004, Prime 3 in 2007, and Other M in 2010, and unlike others I actually liked Other M, sure critics point out some things the game could have done better but overall it was still fun. I think the biggest thing to work against it was Team Ninja and Tomonobu Itagaki's departure from the developers because Tecmo screwed him over, Itagaki is a excellent game designer and it probably would have been better had he worked on it from beginning to end with the rest of his team. Still though I think Team Ninja did an okay job in his absence, I just don't have high hopes for them delivering satisfactory sequels to the IPs Itagaki left behind like Dead or Alive, or Ninja Gaiden. Anyhow, I'd like it if Nintendo would make these games more often, but the series itself isn't a hot one for Nintendo, while sales of Metroid Prime 3, Metroid Trilogy, and Metroid Other M are somewhere around 3 million combined, games like the Super Mario Galaxy titles have sold several times that rather effortlessly, heck even pieces of crap like Carnival Games have outsold all the Metroid Wii titles, Big Game Hunter 2010 has already outsold both Prime Trilogy and Other M combined, and has just about as many sales as Metroid Prime 3. New Super Mario Bros broke 20 million so expect more of that than Metroid games.

"teh graphics of Other M sucked" is the best you got? The game was great and even had a super-hard secret boss at the very end. It's a game for core gamers only.

I'm hoping for another side-scrolling platformer/shooter Metroid on 3DS.

Metroid Fusion was by far the best one, IMHO. Tight story, fantastic atmosphere, and crap-your-pants intense bosses.

I never played Other M unfortunatly, I watched some videos of the game and thought that it was focusing too much on story than what Metroid really should focus on which is exploration. If you look at the past all of the most popular Metroid games were about exploration and a fairly detailed backstory.

Don't talk to yourself, and don't bump threads with no content. Also, when you want to criticize a game, please go into more detail than 'it sucks and the graphics suck.'
