MGS Liquid/Solid Snake question.

I just finished MGS for the first time and I noticed how Liquid kept going off about how he had all the recessive genes and Snake had all the dominate ones from big boss. However, after the credits in Ocelot's phone call he says something about "Yes, the inferior one prevailed" or something of the sort, no?

Did I miss something? Was Liquid for some reason deceived into believing he had the recessive genes when he actually had the dominate ones? What's the meaning/importance of this?

Liquid had all of the recessive genes, but those actually made him a superior soldier to Solid as far as just genes go. Recessive traits aren't necessarily inferior, but Liquid believed that to be the case, and his life got messed up because of it.MAILER_DAEMON

Liquid only thought he had all the recessive genes and he states that over and over again through out the game. Then Ocelot's final words suggest that the opposite was true. That Solid had the recessive genes....
