We've all come across 'Mini Games' whilst playing through certain franchises..

So I was wondering what your thoughts were on the subject..

Personally, I think 'optional' mini games in titles like 'Jak n Daxter' can be extreemely fun at times to play around with, especially due to the fact that they help break up the game adding variety..

But 'hacking' mini games can be extremely annoying at times, especially when far too many are involved (Bioshock, is a good example.. probably hence the reason why developers made changes to the second title. " Personally I haven't played the second one yet, just going off the reviews to be honest")

So basically, I was wondering if any mini games have totally added to your gaming experience, or if some helped ruinyour gaming experience.

(Mod Edit) - It is considered disruptive, posting in large fonts, please keep it to the standard size font. (mystic_knight).

change your font please, anyway that game in final fantasy x2 i think its called sphere break? man i hated that game and the fact that you needed to win to get the 100% ending pissed me off. Although blitzball in ffx was off the chain, the blitzball in ffx2 was weak

loved-the mini games in wind waker with the french "splooooosh" guy.

hated-ffx-2. mini games done well can add variety, improve pacing, and enrich the game world. mini games like those in ffx-2 are terrible. there were so damn many of them that it crushes the pacing. the worst part is that they are only optional if you dont want the good ending.

I remember playing the mini games in Naruto: Ultimate Ninja 3 on the PS2 a lot. They were pretty entertaining.

Remember in Devil May Cry where you had to kill as many spiders as possible.

It seems that alot of people loved Blitz Ball from FFX, I myself though could not stand it!!! Some of that is in part to me not understanding how to play it though. If it were to be Mini Games that I enjoy though, definitely the Ratchet And Clank Series, awesome mini games, especially the hacking ones.

I hated pretty much all of the Wario mini games in Super Mario 64DS. I did however spend numerous hours playing blitzball in Final Fantasy X.

A lot of people seem to hate it, but I liked the card game in Final Fantasy IX. And I would have liked the hacking minigame in Bioshock if it weren't occasionally impossible to beat. My favorite minigames, though, were probably the ones in Red Dead Redemption, especially five finger fillet.

The lockpicking one in Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion Loved the spell-making one, if you would consider that a mini-game
