Missed out on PS era.

I never owned a PS as I had a N64 in those days and recently I've been getting into some PS games by using my PS2. What are some titles to check out? I'm into RPGs, horror and action/adventure.

So far I own FF titles from IV-IX, Chrono Trigger and Silent Hill. I know there are heaps of RPGs out there but what are the must haves? As for horror, are there any in the lines of Silent Hill? (Exclu. Resident Evil, not a fan).

If you want a suggestion Metal Gear Solid and Vagrant Story are a good start I guess. There quite famous for being great, can't say I'm an expert on PSone times though.

Front Mission 3, drool I played that six times through and itching to play again right now I just got to find it T.T

Breath of Fire series perhaps.

Digimon World one is pretty neat.

Twisted Metal series(i know is outta place, but is still awesome)

Tales of Destiny II is a good RPG game. You can try Harvest Moon: Back to Nature. It's a surefire time waster.

horror + rpg = parasite eve 1 and 2. not really horror scary but horror action. (made by squaresoft)

chrono trigger fan? try xenogears. one character from that game makes a cameo. one of the best rpg games on the ps1.

grandia 1 and lunar silver star story complete are a must play. a true c l a s s i c (- for some reason this word is censored).

suikoden 1 and 2 are two epic rpg.

dino crisis 2 for a good action type game, really good fast pace shooting and nothing like resident evil or dino crisis 1.

if you like resident evil games try dino crisis 1. same thing but harder and with dinosaurs.

castlevania symphony of the night. a c l a s s i c side scroller action.

as mention above get vagrant story, it is a great rpg with dungeon crawling element and metal gear solid.

final fantasy tactics and front mission 3 (you use mechs to fight, pretty cool game) as mentioned above. if you want more srpg try vanduard bandits.

breath of fire 3 and 4 (4 is my fav) a very solid rpg.

legend of dragoon like mentioned above. its like a final fantasy clone imo. lol.

worth a look:

persona 2. nice but hard. try persona 1 if you are a diehard persona fan. and i mean die diehard lol.

tales of destiny 2 like mention above. a very solid rpg.

tenchu 1 and 2 if you like mgs but with ninja. 2 is really good. the controls are above average to average. check some vids first.

alundra. nice hack n slash/rpg/puzzle game

Xenogears and Chrono Cross. That'll keep you busy for a while.

Chrono Cross, Metal Gear Solid. Then everything else. In any case you're not going to be bored this year, catching up with all the ps1 top games is alot of enjoyable work, heh heh.

XENOGEARS..if u could only get 1 game get this game! i still hold xenogears as my no 1 game of all time

I know I did't miss out on that era, but for the life of me I can't remember it:P

You chose some very selective genres. I can't help you too much with those considering I was like 8 when I had one and I played platformers and Tekken.
