I'm getting it for my 360 anyway, but why? Like IW has the resources, and they could totally do that if they wanted to. Why don't they? I'm not trying to be sarcastic here, like what are they thinking?
Yeah, I'm getting it for 360 too. Still, I'm surprised major video game news sites haven't picked up on this. The PC community is exploding with anger.
I mean, just check out how people are getting on the giantbomb forums, or even the Infinity Ward ones. WARNING: you'll find some swearing on both sites.
THIS TANKS....Wat am i gonna do now...play TDM=s...wth...lousy POS IW....All they care is ABT THEIR LAME CONSOLE KIDDIES WHO ARE GONNA BUY IT!!! I SAY PC peeps SHUD BOYCOT IW THIS TIME UNLESS THEY GIVE US STH WE WANT:@FatalFist
Yeah, I'm all for sticking it to the man and stuff... But how many people who were actually going to buy the game does this bother to the point that they will refuse to buy it? I mean, the PC snobs already consider Call of Duty and Modern Warfare 2 to be garbage games or they were going to pirate it anyway because Activision is evil or something.
Also, I'm not too keen on the definition of boycott, but I don't know if refusing to buy a video game because they took out the features you like counts as a boycott. It's almost like saying I am boycotting every game I DON'T buy, if you get what I'm saying.

Uh...I don't think that's true. CoD did originally start as a PC game. I'm not a knowledgeable PC gamer, but dedicated servers are the norm. Those servers are very community driven after all. Judging by the comments on some message boards, a large amount of them are pledging not to buy the game on PC. Personally, I think this controversy is probably going to get more coverage than the L4D2 boycott. The article I posted earlier has an embedded clip in which the hosts were shocked when they heard the news.[QUOTE="AtomicTangerine"]

It's just that I'm wondering how the PC version of this game was even going to sell anyway. We all know that the 360 version will end up on top, so that's where most of the effort is going.
I don't mean this in a confrontational way either man, I'm just wondering for real how many of the peoplemad about thiswere going to buy a legit copy and not pirate it. I guess we'll never know anyway, so there isn't much point debating, but Activision at least feels like cutting those features out will make them more money than leaving them in and making it ever so slightly harder for pirates to play.
Kotick cutting something that didn't make him money but which made a game better  . Who'd a thunk it? Such an action clearly goes against everything Kotick believes and all the things Activision have done in the past.
Seriously, Call of Duty is popular enough that kind of like the recent Star Wars movies, Infinity Ward could give its fans a crap sandwich and 99% of them would lick their lips and ask for more.
Not that I was going to get the game, but that sounds pretty crappy for PC gamers. They literally have no reason to get the game on PC. Part of the reason why I get the PC version of any FPS or RPG is because of mods;it's why I'm getting Borderlands on PC instead of console.

Dude, Call of Duty 4 is the most popular multiplayer game right after World of Warcraft (check Xfire stats). I mean, I wish what you were saying is true, but it just isn't. It's absolutely huge on PC. Hopefully, the same won't be true for Modern Warfare 2.
Anyway, this is a joke. Matchmaking is crap and I hated Left 4 Dead for using it (although there were dedicated servers as well), but that's mostly a co-op game with a limited number of players. A full-on multiplayer game with no servers, just peer to peer matchmaking? A ****ing joke.

No dude, I'm not saying people aren't playing it, I'm just saying that many of the real hardcore PC guys that are complaining aren't the people who were going to buy this anyway. I mean, like you say how terrible Call of Duty 4 is all the time, and what I've seen on other sites is the people complaining saying they are just going to pirate it now. If that's all it takes for you to pirate something, you probably weren't going to buy it anyway.

I don't know what people's motives are, but it's the fans that should be upset about this. I don't really care either way, I wasn't going to buy it anyway. I just think it's really pathetic. Why would people like me threaten to pirate it? I wouldn't play it regardless of its price. The irony is that the fans will have the most to gain by pirating it because the pirated copy will have servers and mods. Why pay for a game that is a clear middle finger to the PC community? Please Log In to post.
