Monster Hunter still isn't a game that dispenses quick thrills. It never will be. It's a product of Japanese gaming culture in that it values and rewards hard work. But Tri is nonetheless far more accessible and appealing than its PSP counterparts – it's beautiful, absorbing, hugely satisfying to play (with a cIassic Controller at least) and thankfully doesn't rely so heavily on multiplayer. In crafting a more balanced and engaging single-player experience, Capcom has ensured that many more players will be drawn into Monster Hunter's world - and once you're in, Tri shows you so much love that it's impossible not to love it back.Presentation-9.0
Monster design is superb, the world feels organic and alive, and the maps are varied and visually interesting.Graphics-9.0
It's the most graphically ambitious game on the Wii by far; open environments and astonishing, detailed, frightening and enormously proportioned monsters push the console further than we've ever seen.Sound-8.0
Sounds of nature transform into fast-paced orchestral battle music in combat – each monster's is different – but it's the roars, thuds and forcible impacts that resonate most.Gameplay-9.0
With a cIassic Controller, Monster Hunter Tri plays perfectly; combat is heart-poundingly compulsive and different weapon types offer enormous scope to make the game your own.Lasting Appeal-9.5
Monster Hunter has hundreds of hours' worth of content, but you may not want to experience them all. However much time you spend on it, though, Tri rewards in spades.Overall-9.3

This is out next week, is anyone else thinking about picking it up? I want that CIassic Controller Pro, and I think this is a series I could really get into. I've never played the other games in the series, but I've always been interested.
