More games are woke

The new dragon age game is complete woke as many other games are, thus putting gamers off buying their games.

So keep sleeping.

@fergiefire1: It would be nice if you could provide more ground details as to why Dragon Age: Veilguard makes it a woke game. I only saw just gameplay during Summer Game Fest and that's all I need to see. I'm not hyped and I'm not watching anymore trailers nor more gameplay as I want to test the game and the less I know, the better I'll be in for a nice surprise.

So yes, more details on why you think its woke would be more appreciated.

Well every movie, video game, and advertisement performs better and is much better received with a fat black gay girl right, so it only makes sense they continue to use them to sell media and improve society because it is effective.

Honestly at this point the thing I hate most about "woke" stuff is the people complaining about it.

Civil rights have always been contentious and incited moral panic at the time, but looking back I wouldn't call liberating slaves, letting women vote, free expression of religion, and other things of that nature particularly "woke". I'm sure many people complained about it at the time though.

Games are definitely woke and the mafia of gaming SBI has been forcing developers to include females and other races in games to subvert the order of society so that men would be oppressed by the inclusion of these female, gay, blue haired black and asian folks in gaming. I think you are confusing low-quality pandering with general "woke" issues. They're not mutually exclusive--we can have a good movie about gay folks, and we can have a bad movie about gay folks--but folks such as yourself love to say it's all one thing and not the other, i.e. "it's gay therefore it's bad" instead of "this was bad simply because it was bad"

When the low quality pandering consistently makes the product worse at some point that needs to be acknowledged.. I don't think high quality pandering is going to make the product any better either.

Every character in the game looks like it was made with this.

It is more noticeable but as long as the game is good I don’t really care. The funny thing is for a lot of these big companies, they don’t really care either. Fill in a checkmark, hopefully little to no negative social media and boom, money.

I just have to wonder if films like "Philadelphia" or "The Birdcage", or games done with similar quality and integrity (since we are talking about games), were released now if you would count that as woke or pandering.

Or Homeworld 3, which was quite a blow for me personally. Utterly ruined by the woke template. Creative bankruptcy has reached a maximum thanks to the "Gleichschaltung" by US-woke.

I'm at this point that if anyone uses terms like "too woke" in their discourse I just immediately assumed that they're brain dead.

No I don't consider either of those " woke pandering ".

Look, I acknowledge not everything is made for me and it doesn't have to be. "Life is Strange" is pretty progressive. I believe the writing is cringe inducing and insufferable but the game isn't for me. I'm not the target demographic and that's ok. It has it's fanbase and manages to be a successful IP primarily because it's able to be produced on a lower budget.

However when you take something that is geared toward that 18 to 45 year old male demographic( which will be most action games for an example) and you try to fill it with progressive messaging in hopes that you will expand your audience at the expense of your existing audience that is a move that almost always ends in failure. If a game developer feels it's there job to make the world a better place by shoving In their progressive viewpoints for the betterment of society then they have no place in the gaming industry.

@silentchief: I agree with your sentiment to an extent, I just think we should take things as the sum of their parts. I tend to roll my eyes a bit with the occasional pandering moment but move on if I am enjoying the game, show, or movie well enough.

I think the issue is that there is a lot of pandering and the media is low-quality as well. Very rarely does pandering, virtue-signaling, and highlighting a woke agenda ruin a product on its own (unless it is done a lot).

I'm coming up blank on any major release with a protagonist that fits this description. Couple of supporting characters perhaps? Maybe some indie things?

Some folks are struggling with the idea that they are no longer being pandered to because they are no longer the primary demographic.🤷🏽‍♂️
