Buying a game, hearing all these 'at least decent' reviews, checking game vids, all that........only to find it's not good. I don't mean "not Ninja Gaiden or Devil May Cry," I mean the development was poor. A.K.A. The PS2 version of DBZ Tenkaichi Budokai 2.
The first was pretty cool, too.
Well, it wasn't exactly an in-game moment, but it very much sucked when 30+ hours of Front Mission 3 data got corrupted on my EB-branded memory card. First and last time I ever bought anything third-party for one of my Sony consoles.
I've had some ridiculously frustrating moments with the Hot Shots series over the years, especially with HSG: Fore! online. It's just the kind of game that really likes to screw me over at exactly the wrong time.
Beating Sephoroth in KH2. You have to level so much and then it takes at least 50 tries to develope a strategy to finally beat him.
Ninja Gaiden. that game just flat out pisses me off. Got to the last boss and died and i start back at the really hard part that i just beat. Havent returned since.
*Remembers* OMG i have a good one. Last boss in FFX. I beat him and you get to the fight that the guide says "there is no way of losing" of course with my luck i find a way. I totally ran out of MP and ethers. he revies himself everytime. My lack of mana lead me to have all my hastega gone and no uber magic attacks. so i was hitting him less than he could heal. I eventually gave up." Nearly cried considering its a very hard boss and i got screwed.
Either when my brother Erased my Phantasy Star Online Character (who was level 50), Or trying to beat Ninja Gaiden. I eventually did, but damn was i pissed off for a while
There is many frustrating game moments for me, but one stands out from all the others is...
Whenever I get into a hard battle and get stuck in the corner, the camera starts screwing up, so I can't see anything since the camera is having a seizure or something, then I end up dieing.
Battletoads on SNES, the stupid bike level where you have to weave around all these pillars. I eventually got through it, but since you only got so many lives in that game, the level after it was impossible to finish with depleted life.
The game was so cheap and frustrating, Rare hasn't made a game that frustrating since that I know of. It had two player Co-op which was cool, just they blew it on the difficulty.
Putting Dragon Warriors 3 in my NES and turning the system on only to see a blue screen. After several attempts to get the game started, it finally starts and you hear that short tune that let's you know a game has been erased. And wouldn't you know it, it's not one of your siblings' games that was erased. No, it's yours.
I always hated when this happened back when I was still a kid. But now I have a Famicom, so this doesn't happen anymore. Yay!
Playing Okami. Half of the game is some dot blabbing jibberish when I'm trying to pwn some noobs. I swear I hate that game.hhcash
I hated that too, ruined the game so badly. Issun I think his name is, he was annoying as hell.
Elite Beat Agents on some of the last levels on the two highest difficulties...ugh. I'm glad I managed to beat the game entirely, though. Very rewarding and awesome. Also, Trauma Center Under the Knife for the DS...pissed me off so much I stopped playing it >_>
Also, a couple years ago, it was Xenosaga Ep. I that really ticked me off. It was the boss in the church, when Shion and Jr. see their pasts. That boss, I swear, would not be beatable without looking at a guide (which I had to do, unfortunately. I hate looking for help, but sometimes you have to >_>) because the conditions to beat it were just ridiculous!
I have a few general ones:
Water Dungeons- Always entails really terrible controls along with drowning all the time. Everyone hates these damn things
Escort Missions/Bodyguard- With the exception of RE4 most games where you have a mission to protect someone is very frustrating, especially with poor AI and watching your idiot helpless AI friend trying to run through a wall.
Timed Missions: Damn, I hate being timed in any game. I like to take my time and figure things out, nothing is as stressful as fighting against the clock.
A few specific ones:
The beginning of Final Fantasy Tactics- The first chapter in this game was a pain in the ass for me when I first picked the game up. I had no idea how to play the game or how to build my characters. Many nights of getting my ass pwned.
Ninja Gaiden(everything)- **** this game, **** this game, **** this game! I bought Ninja Gaiden Black just so I could play easy mode so I could see how the game ends.
Metal Gear Solid- Having to read the back of the box for the radio frequency. How the Hell does anyone figure that out! I would have never known if noone told me what to do.
the games where u have to level up just to beat a boss... on second thoughts, thats not frustrating its just damn boring.
frustrating wud be some of the missions in drakangard..u nearly reach the end of the level and die and start all over again, the final boss in titan quest after patching the game, seven samurai(this game actually rewards u for playing well in the earlier missions by giving u less amt of powerups so that the later levels become damn frustrating)
the stupid soul sucking floating fish from ninja gaiden put me off for about 2 weeks
then they helped me out with money ........so yea
