I've noticed they ask people if they want to reserve a lot more.

Only if you ask them for information, I've never had a bad experience other than them hassling me to try and reserve games or get a guide for the game I'm buying.

Most of the time, employees are just doing what they're trained to do. They are supposed to ask about preorders and reserving and to hawk used games. That's where GS makes the money.

not really in taking in games but selling used games i believe they make a lot of money off those. which is why they insist on you buy those before you buy the new copy. also why they have the edge card to give people more incentive to buy used games. i dont mind them much, actually the store i go to is completely unbiased (the people that work there) wich is why they turned out to be such good friends. i even go there sometimes just to hang out and talk games without buying a thing. but it true, some of those guys give 100% of their oopinion on whether you should buy a game or not and if its a game they object to, ive seen them go to some extremes to get people to NOT buy those games. regardless of how you feel about it or not...

I don't think I've ever talked to a GameStop employee that was even close to being a demon... They've all been pretty good.

I must be damn lucky, I never have problems at my local GameStop. The most I hear out of them is "Any game you want to pre-order?", I just politely say "No" and that is all. The only game I pre-ordered was Gears of War 2 and they even gave me a Golden Hammerburt Code despite the fact that I wasn't at the midnight launch. The only complaint I have about GameStop is the gutted copy controversy. I never buy games for new that aren't in the shrink wrap. I don't agree with what they are doing and I hope they stop, I will still shop there but just not buy new games from them unless its in the shrink wrap.

I went into an EB yesterday and I had a great little chat about Zelda with the clerk, I bought an Edge card from him and left a happy customer. never had much of a problem with bad behavior from EB/GS employees.

At the one near my house, the employees are actually unfailingly polite and helpful. It's ridiculous that one would say that the Orange Box is a bad game...when I went, the guy asked me if I needed help, but wasn't pushy about it and let me browse around and pick up what I wanted -- no comments about whether the games in question (Fable II and Prince of Persia) were good or not.

I can't remember the last time I had to say "no" more than once when they offered me a used game or a strat guide.

Theres only been one problem with a GS employee, when he wouldn't let me buy aTEEN rated game without a parent. (Don't no why, just yelled at him alot). So after a while the manager came over yelled at the guy, and gave me 10% off for being hastled for no reason. After that never saw the guy again.

Other than that GS incident, I've been tickle pink

o_O ALL the copies of Prince of Persia GameStop got in for the initial allocation were limited editions, so I don't know what you mean by that. Anyway, if they're being rude, two things I always tell people but nobody seems to do: a) Talk to the store manager. If he's part of the problem, or isn't doing anything to rectify the problem despite knowing about it, then: b) Talk to the district manager. He'll get something done, especially if you're really polite to him and explain why you're frustrated, and that it's a continuing problem. That's the biggest recommendation that I can make. GameStop employees shouldn't be bullying paying customers, if this is what is actually happening in that store. Some employees are just unfortunately jerks, but there is something that can be done about it. *Shrug*

Why would they talk you out of buying something? Don't they get paid more if they sell more? Anyway, here they don't do that. They're pretty cool here. (they mostly stand around and talk about Halo matches they've had with each other)

I think I'm a pretty solid gamestop employee. I know what I'm talking about and never bug people to reserve stuff. I can't speak for everyone in my store however.

I actually like most of the GS employees near me, except for one. This guy thinks hes gods gift to gaming, and many times Ive seen him sneer and/or openly mock customers for their choices. This I dealt with, but on top of this, any time someone (myself, and I have witnessed others) brings in a game to trade, he makes this big scene out of "all the extra work" that causes him. His words, used to describe the greuling task of filling out a form., and not during busy times.....

I leave now if I see this guy in there. To see his reaction to having to do a trade-in, you would've think I/we asked to have sex with his mom......

The employees at our store are pretty good, never expressing their opinion of games or bugging me to buy anything. The reason I avoid the place is that when I wanted to purchase a "new" copy of a game, I brought the empty box up to the clerk and he couldn't find the disc for it. He looked rather embarrassed. How much you wanna bet some other employee took it home and was playing the "new" copy?

Most gamespot employees I have encountered are cool. Most just sell me the game. I have had run ins with a couple fanboys or overheard somethings that made me laugh that they where saying to other customers. For the most part Gamecrazy guys seem more knowledgeable and friendly.

naahhh. Demons are the spawn of Satan. I've never ever met a single gamestop employee or even person for that matter who even resembled a demon.

I have mixed feelings. My local Gamestops are fine but I have had it where the workers are horrible Nintendo fans.

Its ok to be a big fan of a console, but to deter sales in a game store based upon you biased should get you fired.

lol...

The things I can tell you about GameStop employees would make your gamer's skin crawl. Mwahaha...

The guy who didn't understand you had the LE version of Prince of Persia? He's not a demon, he's either:

A. New guy.

B. Guy no one likes and he doesn't get enough hours therefore he has absolutely no idea what he's selling half the time.

C. The douche, he doesn't care, he doesn't listen and he just wants to stand around and do nothing.

The Devil Survivor anti-love? Probably either a Megaten hater, or he had someone complain about it and say it sucked sometime before you came around to purchase it. As for the Orange Box thing, a lot of people who work at GameStop's are fanboys or even more hideous, people who were hired for their work experience rather than game knowledge. Sure, they got hired to be fair and kind to the workforce, but when they attempt to talk like they know what they're talking about it ends up being pretty fail.

As for people complaining about trade-in's, they're lazy idiots. Most GameStop managers pump the words "Trade! Trade! Trade!" into their employee's heads. GameStop is genius because they have people trade in their copy of God of War for $2.00 and then they resell it for $17.99. They love trades, it's a chance for somewhere around 6x profit. And also, if you talk to the District Manager about an employee that's being a douche, that won't do much. It'll result in a slap on the wrist, not any punishment. If you really wanna lay into your local GameStop minions, you hold the ultimate power to do so. You know how they tell you to go to the website and fill out the survey thingy? Be lethal when you do so. Every single negative feedback gets sent to the District Manager. If you manage to wrack up enough of negative ones about the same employee eventually someone is going to be looking for a new job. No joke, those things are deadly serious. Managers get ranked based on their postive percentage, and if they make the yearly cut they get a pay bonus. Negative website feedback rules their worlds. xD

If you want any more tips on how to get your GameStop employees to be more congenial feel free to message me. I worked as an Assistant Manager for years until I was fired because I discovered our DM was getting frisky with one of our married employees, I know all their secrets. ;o

Not necessary demons, but some are idiots, when they try to talk someone out of a sale because they didn't like the game, this happened with me for Dead Space.

Really, calling them demons is taking it a bit too far. Most of them are just VERY uninformed about the games they sell. Most of the time, you'll get a bad employee talking to you,but every now and then, you'll find somebody who has decent knowledge about the gaming "scene". You just have to know where to go.

LOL They kinda tell me that stuff too. When I was trying to buy Call of Duty 3 they said it sucked and was a huge waste of time. Then when I tried to buy BloodRayne they told me it was a really bad game and your just wasting your money buying it.
