MTV is having this Rock Band special, where there set up a contest for people to play the video game, and get judged by real rock idols. I think it signals, the end of the world, Sebastian Bach told the loser, "Don't Let this ruin your rock n' roll dreams," as if they were a real rock band. I think it really is kind of ironic, especially considering the recent South Park episode making fun of Guitar Hero, and I have to say it is a little sad. The entire thing just seems really idiotic to me, but maybe I'm overreacting a bit. The fact that the winners got these expensive Fender Guitar, further baffled me, I mean what are they going to do with them lol.

Well i use to say its really sad that kids today rather play music through games then with instruments, then i realized have you heard the crap that the radio puts out there for kids today HAHA. Wow. I'm glad my 12 year old cousins listen to old school rock n roll, heavy metal and real skate punk music. My 11 year old cousin still surprised me listening to the misfits, sucidial tendencies, iron maiden, bad religion, alice in chains, pantera, queen, hendrix, minor threat, soundgarden...etc..etc.

I do listen to new stuff, but i gotta search for it now, but man kids today, guys actually like this my chemical romance crap, how do girls even want to be with you? This last decade of music its liek ok to wear pink now, and ok to be that whiny? I thought Nirvana was pretty whiny wah wah, but they seem like there metal now compared to the crap today, not sure if its the Blink 182 rip offs or what. I blame Green Day, ever since there singer started wearing black makeup crap trying to be Alice Cooper it spawn this gen of guys wearing pants tighter then Def Lepperd did. And look at Anthony Kiedis soem girl was like to me i like this new song by this new band the Chili Peppers, i almost just was like whoa, you realize they been around since like 83. And man Anthony what a jerk selling out dressing like a 12 year old today. Mike Patton and Faith No More still Own the Chilis.

Music games themselves aren't a problem, but it is a bit of a shame if people are that disillusioned with pop music. Would you really rather listen to radio 1 than "play" killing in the name of on guitar hero?

Pop music really is a sin against nature in its current state. The record labels now have a computer program that works out the likelihood of a single being a hit, so hw can we expect any originality? The same hapened to hollywood. If that much money is put on the line, then homogeny reigns supreme.

I agree, people are taking these music games too seriously. If kids realy wana get into music they should realy learn to play a real instrument, and if you wana show off your skills in guitar hero, then i mean realy try picking up a real guitar to see if your realy good. I myself am a drummer, and recently tried the drum settup for rockband and found it a disgrace. I know that there is gunna be tones of poser drummers coming out of this, just how guitar hero ruined guitar.

The bottom line is, if u wana get good at an instrument then pick up a really instrument, not a glorified game controller, because there realy is nothing alike in the two.

Didn't Mike get crap for trying to be like the Chilis? Stadium Arcadium kicks ass so I guess there isn't anything for me to get angry about.

The show sounds both lame and typical of MTV programming. The most sad thing about it is that the OP actually watched it.

Actually Faith No More got bigger before the Chilis and Anthony was very jealous of that. And actually in 1999 Mike Patton was going to name his Mr. Bungle album Californication but Anthony decided he wanted that name for his bands and cried about it to the label (there both on the same one) so Patton was forced to call it California instead. And also in 2000 or 2001 Anthony cried about a big fesitival tour that they were to headline and did but only way was cause he did not want Mr. Bungle on the bill with it who are a much more musically talented band then the Chilis. So if you wanna be a jacka$$ about it thats fine, but i just wanna let you know how much of a jerk Anthony is and how much more talent Mike has. And yes i do own every chili pepper album from Freaky Styley, Uplift Mofo Party to Stadium Arcadium to there bootlegs starting out. I do love the RHCP very much, but yes Mike Patton > Anthony Kiedis
