This is a tragic event to happen, but to blame it on a videogame in order to escape putting it on the real blame on terrorists who committed the horrific deed is just beyond idiocy and stupidity. What a shame!

Walid Phares, a Fox News terrorism analyst

Hardly surprising.

Yes, indeed. There is always, always a scapegoat. Whether it's movies, music, videogames, comics, toys, books, or the counter-culture of the time, nothing is off limits. "But you honor, the Devil/Duke Nukem/Metallica/Batman made me do it!"

In other news, terrorist attack in Moscow mirrors the movie Speed wherea bus bomb explodes in an airport.

In other news, terrorist attack in Moscow mirrors the movie Casino Royale where a bomb explodes in an airport.

In other news, terrorist attack in Moscow mirrors the movie Die Hard 2 where a bomb explodes in an airport.

Correlation is not equal to Causation. All media outlets fail at fundamental logic, what else is new?

I don't think Metallica has ever been given any blame on anything like that. I've heard of Ozzy and Marylin Manson being given the blame on school shootings or suicides, but not Metallica.

That said, I remember a case, a long time ago, when some kid decided to carjack a whole bunch of cars and the police arrested. When they brought him in for questioning, he told them that Grand Theft Auto made me do it. I couldn't help but laugh my arse off.

I can see another headline:

Man jumps on head of passerby, then eats mushroom. Mario is to blame.

I really wonder when people are going to actually hold people accountable for what they do. Video games don't make people kill people. Seriously, I'm playing Dead Space right now, but that doesn't mean I'm going to go out, grab some mining equipment, and start chopping peoples' limbs off.

This was a tragedy, and I hope those responsible are caught.

Blame video games for educating us about terrorism but they won't give out about TV shows and documentaries.

Link between video games and violence? Das ist crap.

The only people who are going to be swayed by video games to commit violence and murder are the people who are going to do that regardless of the influence of video games. Obviously, they are already sociopaths. They don't need games to tell them.

Hah! Major media outlets using logic instead of pandering to fear and ignorance? Fat chance. Logic isn't profitable.

I see this as advertising the game in a bad way.
