hi guys, Obviously spoilers ahead so only read if you've finished the game! After finishing the game, I, like many of you probably have, spent the next few hours searching the Internet for explanations. It's been amazing, the explanations have been fantastic and I think I have a kind-of good idea of what's going on. although the whole thing is **** crazy. I've been left with a few questions which haven't been answered and wondered if anyone could shed some light. 1) If Booker, false shepherd Booker, had given Anna away as a child then tried to get her back, why does he not remember this event? He talks about the daughter he once had during the game, but never mentions the fact that he regretted his choice and tried to get her back only to see Comstock take her back to his reality. in fact, booker does only seem to remember this right at the end, but why? 2) Bookers nosebleeds? Can't quite work out the relevance of these... I understand that the people who died in a different reality get them because they can't comprehend what's going on, but why does Booker get them at the points he does? 3) How does the Prophet know that Booker will have A.D carved on to his hand?! If anyone would care to shed some light, I would be very grateful. fantastic game in parts but does make your head hurt....

[QUOTE="Thirtydeadfoxes"] 1) If Booker, false shepherd Booker, had given Anna away as a child then tried to get her back, why does he not remember this event? He talks about the daughter he once had during the game, but never mentions the fact that he regretted his choice and tried to get her back only to see Comstock take her back to his reality. in fact, booker does only seem to remember this right at the end, but why?

The idea is based on the many worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Many-worlds_interpretation). basically anytime anything happens in the universe, all possible things happen, all possible combinations of things, each one spawnined in its own "world" (i.e. plane of existence). Thus there are 2 brookers (well actually an infinite number but 2 in the game ... mostly... sorta ... well there is the one you play and the Comstock who is maybe joined to all his other selves (hence his special abilities/prophecy etc) created by the decision to be born again or not.

2) Bookers nosebleeds? Can't quite work out the relevance of these... I understand that the people who died in a different reality get them because they can't comprehend what's going on, but why does Booker get them at the points he does?

Not 100% sure but I think it is when it transitions from one "world" to another or comes in to contact with one of his other selves.

3) How does the Prophet know that Booker will have A.D carved on to his hand?!

I think he is aware of all the other worlds in which he exists, and all the times at which he exists (hence his presience) hence he can "see" the false shepherd. hope that helps. I am assumingcthe 3 DLCs will be 3 different versions of the story each with different characters, set in different worlds etc and each will give us a little more information. Here is a question: who is the woman who recognises Elizabeth on the way to the first airship and calls her "annabella" ? How can she have met another Elizabeth? Is she a traveller between the planes or did another Elizabeth visit that Columbia?

okay here are your answers: 1) He doesn't remember because the twins bring him into the universe with Comstock thus he is creating new memories but remember at the end when you are being dragged by them he is sorta sleeping. So what ever his brain was thinking at the time was where it started his memories and being in a new world he created new memories aka not remembering what happened and now thinking that getting the girl will erase his debt. 2) Still not sure but the guy above summed it up nicely 3) Comstock uses the tears with his machine to see in the future which is why he can predict the future correctly which is how he knows that Booker will be branded with the AD. Because of his correct predictions that's why people call him the profit and worship him.
